Season 1.1 is a small step in the right direction. Its still a mix bag of nuts.
What is awesome:
1) Difficulty slider/Death Penalty: A unique feature that gives everyone what they want (except for drops...all I get is batteries...). If you want to be a TRIBBLE you have the ability to go and set your difficulty slider to elite and attempt to one man a borg cube in advanced and elite. (emphasis on attempt) And if you die on advanced or elite you can pull a muscle which requires healing from various kits.
2) Exchange is usable now!! Finally I can sort through things instead of waiting 6 seconds to scroll through each page at a time to fine junk.
3) Anomaly stacks go up to 99 now. I would kiss you cryptic for that one. My bank space was cut in half leaving more room for my tribble breading program.
4) New Escort skin is awesome. Now we dont have to look at the
Dervish anymore (that is exactly what I think of when I envision a dervish. nothing says fierce awesome dps like a man spinning around in a long dress).
5) The Idea of Aid the Planet Missions.
6) Purple gear besides Anti-Proton weapons. Another I would kiss you if I could moment. Means I can have all purple weapons.
What is bad...
1) Borg. There is no difference in the difficulty of the Borg Cubes. All of them eat through you like acid through wood. There is nothing you can do. Seems developers forgot this is the future... years beyond the first official encounter with the Borg. Time to move on from the ran into the dirt invincibility of the Borg (since nothing is ever invincible).
2) Science ships are really messed up. (Posted ticket last night. Know at least one science ship captain with the same issue and 3 others that had random glitches such as weapons not firing or weapons lag). I can go into a random mission on my Science captain and loose the ability to use any beam weapons in front. I can cycle weapons out and each one stops working within 2 minutes of a mission. I had to go with 2 single tetryon cannons and those have worked but the moment I try my old beam arrays the beam arrays stop working.
3) Plasma Torpedoes = Insta death on a star cruiser, buffed, with full health and shields. One plasma torpedo hit me from a borg cube on Advanced. I had 100% shields and hull. I have survived similar heavy plasma torpedoes before. But one heavy plasma torpedo di 86K damage to me. Why cant my quantums do the same or more damage than a plasma since they do more damage in the first place? Why do plasma weapons do more damage anyways? One tick of the plasma fire does as much damage to me as an unshielded beam array blast. Makes no sense. Its fire burning in space. How does that happen? How would it even affect me? Where did all these questions come from?
4) Where are the Aid the Planet Missions? I havent seen one on three characters that I do dailies or exploration missions. I have spent over 4 hours on three characters and not a single Aid the Planet Mission. I get pleanty of 6 enemy encounters verses Borg on Advanced and Elite but not on Normal. Why is that Cryptic? Did you mess with the engine that you use to generate the random exploration missions? I used to get 1 aid the planet every half hour. I havent seen a single one since the update.
Over all a good improvement. You made me very happy, Cryptic. Except for the Borg who need to prepare to receive the Nerf hammer if you want people to play end game content. It defies logic to keep them as the convenient Rick Berman Deus Ex Machina. They should be hard, just not improbably impossible. That would require an android, betazed, a man wearing an auto filter on his eyes and a chauvinist to figure out how to get me back from assimilation. Time to bury the Borg. The put them in their place in Voyager. Time to do so in the game.
