If it is no longer going to be just for life time subscribers and available basically to any one, can we at least see it moved some where besides Earth Spacedock. People have no reason to visit the Captain's Table due to everything it has to offer is on the spacedock( with exception of the chat channel). People are going to need a reason to even want to visit. I personally don't go there for this reason. I can find everything I need at the spacedock. If the Captain's Table were accessable from another location, it would make it more enticing because that is one more option for captains to rest at without having to go all the way back to Earth.
On a side note, if all of these "exclusives" are no longer going to be exclusive, then perhaps we can have an estimate, if not a confirmation, that the other "exclusives" will become available to every one else. I purchased the game with the TOS uniforms so I could have something different and now every one has them. Not complaining, it happens. Still annoying though. I was excited about the Captain's Table so I could talk with other lifers and now that is being taken away in a sense. Sorry, got off on a tangent.
yes, I agree that in light of the exclusivity loss, it should be moved to somewhere more remote. Otherwise, what is the point of going there...it's right next to spacedock, which offers more things.
hey, what about moving it to Borg space, so that you can only access it from rank RA3 and above?
guess we'd have to rename it the Admiral's Table then...
It's accessible from a Captain's ship in the books. They walk through a door on their ship and wind up there.
IMHO, they should do that. There is a limit to the vendors you can access while there (no ship change merchant, etc.) and since everyone gets access eventually, the easy access vendors don't present a huge game balance issue.
What about the ship exterior, since it would be gone if nobody warped there and it was treated as an extra ship room? Just allow people to fly around the Captain's Table in little vanity ships. But you should go to the Captain's Table from your Bridge or Ready Room and when you leave the area, you wind up back in your Bridge or Ready Room with your ship being where it was before.

This is the idea I support. It would make things much easier.
Are we really going to whine about the Captain's Table access this much?
At the point that cryptic's going to open it up to non-lifers, they will have paid as much or more than us. Why should cryptic have to do some other vet perk when they went to a lot of trouble making this station?
I had liked having the Two Extra Character Slots from my Lifetime Subscription, until I saw those slots on the C-Store for low prices. I had enjoyed the Captains Table, until I saw that if people just wait around for about a year they get that free. I never really enjoyed the Liberated Borg option , but I now worry that it will be showing up in the C-Store or in a Promotion eventually. So what exactly did my early Lifetime Subscription net me? I am beginning to think I just pre-paid my subscription fee for 14 months and a lame title.
Please restrict access to The captains Table to Lifetime Subscribers. It is, to me, the most solid thing you have rewarded to customers like myself. Please don't hand out our exclusives. If you continue to hand out Exclusives...they aren't Exclusives anymore...they become Premium Items. We were told a wallet would not pathe our way in STO. Should I have just bought Cryptic Bucks and waited, instead of committing my money to your initial efforts Cryptic?

I completely agree. Once ship interiors are done this should definitely be added. There won't be a need for a ship because walking through that door could bring you right into the Captain's Table instead of outside of it.
Actually they could implement this now without having to add any ship interiors. There is already a door at the back of every bridge that can be interacted with, taking you back to where you were when you entered the bridge. A second selection would allow you to enter the Captain's Table zone, loading in where you do when you beam down now. It would also be semi-immersive, how many times did we see Archer enter the turbolift and be transported away, it's not just somebody's quarters where that happens.
As far as when is the best time to discuss this stuff? Well now of course. It's fresh material, and if we can give the devs even one good idea on how to better implement this, then they have several months to get it done instead of rushing out something done halfway the week before it is to become available to the first one year vets.
Edited for speeling, storm's a'coming Ani, can feel it in my bones.
Oops, someone got to my post before I could edit to say that.
So I'll just leave it and move on.
However, a bit more on topic... if they move the captain's table, where is it going to go?
You can currently transwarp to Sol and that's it. If it's not in an easy accessible spot, where should it go?
wow it blow's my mind how many lifers disregard the true value of the package they purchased.
I saved money by purchasing a LTS early, that was my only motivating factor. There are many like me who don't begrudge others getting access to the same perks however far down the road.
Anyways back on topic, keep making suggestions on how to better implement the Captain's Table for ALL to use once they can.
Maybe move the CT so it's not right next to Sol Spacedock, and also make it the "real" and famous Spacedock first seen in ST III instead of some blinky mini-star looking thing.
Come on. There ought to be at least ONE of them in the game.

I agree with this whole-heartedly. Give me a door in my Captain's Quarters. You can use the one that supposedly leads to the bathroom, since we all know that is the bigger myth - never seen and rarely mentioned.
I find it interesting that people rant against people who prefer Exclusivity. There is nothing wrong in choosing to enjoy Exclusivity. But when that Exclusive Thing is parceled out to more people (particularly for free when one paid handsomely) it becomes far less Exclusive, and in some cases no longer Exclusive at all. Some of us are unafraid to admit we like Exclusivity instead of Equality in all things. Too much of any one thing is a bad thing imho, even if that thing is Equality.
@DarkOrion69 - Nobody paid for the captain's table. It was given out for free to people with a LTS along with the fancy badge (keep that exclusive if you want), ingame and forum title and blue name in forums. Nobody paid for it.
All "exclusive" means is "not for everyone". It doesn't necessarily have to mean "just for you".
The number of people who play an MMO for 14 months or longer are almost always the minority if the MMO is healthy.
And I think the very idea of this little clubhouse thing and entitlement mentality some lifers have is a bit upsetting. I'd almost like Cryptic staffers to say, "Well, we were going to keep it exclusive. But some of you let it go to your head and became jerks so we're yanking that exclusivity as punishment for your bad behavior. Those of you who aren't jerks? Enjoy the company in there in a year."
They'd never put it like that. But... I really wouldn't object if they did. I've known game designers who WOULD put it that way.
As far as where to move it is concerned, since CT is located in a nebula next to the space dock, it would be real easy to just add more nebulae around the systems if they don't want to make is accessible from the ships.

13 months' worth of sub fees ain't exactly "free".

and please please give us a transwarp capability to it its so annoying having to use just plain old warp everywhere we go.
in fact please add transwarp between federation starbases.

maybe they will when we get ship interiors. perhaps a mysterious magic door in your own quarters.

it's not like anything has changed.
you paid 14 months in advance so that after 14 months you never had to make another payment. the rest was just icing.
Im sorry you cant stand someone else having a piece of your cake.

That is how exclusivity works.
Example: Every game that was ever exclusive and then got ported.
Something is exclusive for as long as it lasts.
That's just the way it goes.
Wrong thread? hehe
