Cryptic lied to us and offered false advertising in regards tot he captains table. One user asked me for proof. here it is..
"It isn't lies (unless you can provide a link to a page where Cryptic said it would be exclusive) and certainly not false advertising."

The Captain's Table - A special area exclusive to lifetime subscribers. See below to learn how to claim this perk.
EXCLUSIVE.
I am against this movement from cryptic and I feel that if we give perks like this to everyone, it makes them cmmon. Lifers need something JUST for them. It has something to do with them being important or special. Indeed it does for me, and as far as segregation, don't accuse me of promoting that. there are regular subscribers and lifers, they are in itself segregated programs. I am not going to post anymore threats nor topics on this matter. I've said what needs to be said, and hopefuly someone agrees with me.

I'm not sure, but you don't seem to have the support of the lifetime subscription community behind you... at least not my support.
*shrug*
Buy a lifetime subscription proving you actually deserve a reward for placing faith and investing money when its most needed, and maybe you will...
TOS uniforms were "exlcusive" to the DDE version of the game
admiral uniforms were "exclusive" to the blu ray/dvd set
most of us have them now dont we
they have said several times that over time exclusives we be available to others, time for everyone to move on
I truly don't care. The only thing wrong here is your attitude and an unfamiliarity with ever-changing terms of service.
meh i like the c-store better
This has happened a few times before. So here's the real question you need to ask yourself.
What are you going to do about it?
Posting more threads will not get you any meaningful results. If that is your plan ... your plan will fail.
Maybe it's time for your Plan B? Whatever that may be.
Rawr!!!!
Seriously, why? why is this a topic? A Discussion? Allowed to be on the forums and not in deleted cyberspace, why?
I bought a lifetime to not have to pay to play, if you did it for anyother reason, then you have issues.
Sorry, dont mean to be harsh.
Then that means we can do whatever we want with it?
In that case I would like to pass a motion that non-lifers be allowed in immediately! Any seconds?
Too bad it is Cryptic's. If it were actually mine I would open the doors as soon as I got home.
You cant false advertise for something that is free to the players after purchase...
If Cryptic gave you the feature before purchase of lifetime it would be one thing... But they gave it to you for free so no Trade laws were violated...
Do you think that the few thousand dollars ( paid into Atari coffers ) provided by a handful of lifetime players had any effect on the $17.5M working capital that was given to the Cryptic department to make CO and STO?
You are living in a dream world if you think that LTS is any kind of cash injection when such large figures are involved.
Makes you wonder where the capital when does it not? Of course, they do not have to tell me, but I have to admit I am curious.
Back to my original point, the fact that this is not false advertising invalidated this thread...
Lifetime Subscription/STO was purchased before Cryptic even made the table...
I do realize, its not a huge drop in the tens-of-millions bucket, but I'm also well aware that showing higher initial returns in the first quarter something is released makes a big difference in raising new capitol.
So no, I don't think my Lifetime made a bit of difference in the development debt.
I *DO* know damn well that all of the Lifetime accounts made the initial sales numbers look much healthier, and therefore make it much, much easier to raise money, increase marketing and social media budgets, and prove to management that there is a reason to stay vested in the project.
Its not about the payoff. Its about the way the books look to the bean counters when it comes time to getting more capitol.
EDIT: PS, there were something like 2500 lifetime subs for CO. I remember readign STO got more, before launch. Even at 2500, that's $650k USD before the game even launched. If their goal (as has been stated) is 100k subs, 1.5 million a year, then even just 2.5k lifetimes is more than 1/3 their yearly revenue needs.
Not quite. You can still get one. I bought mine back before Launch, true. But I suspect the biggest noisemaker from the blue-names got his later on, after the Table was announced. At least that would explain their tone.
I would agree with this. Probably did not dent the development costs, but did make the first quarter results look good. You can claim revenue when you deliver a service and are paid.
So, with a lifetime you just had to go live. I wonder if the long term subs, like six and twelve months can be claimed immediatly, or you have to do that over each month?
Nope! No Mirror Uniforms for you unless you shell out $200 like all CO Lifers did!
But Captain's Table... it was out of the blue as a thank you. Totally unexpected. I'm not entitled to it but grateful for it. Plus it's not a big deal at 400 days subscribed... not like they are opening the door to gold spammers and people who can't find Sulu.
Well, I still got him on another note:
Captains Table was a "free" feature either way to the addition of what the buyer was purchasing, thus no illicit advertising was done.
no you can't have Constitution cuz that's a preorder Collector's Edition bonus and you didn't shell out 90 $s cdn to get it.
Oh, I agree. Heck, I distinctly remember the majority of the people who had lifetime subs at the time posted something to the effect of "Uuuuuh... what? Well... thanks? I guess... I mean, ok, cool but... did any of you ask for this? Kind of an odd surprise... huh."
I concur with this statement 100%.
Share your toys with the other kids who paid to be here 400 days or more.
You get to play with them exlcusively with other lifers for the next 340 days at least.
That said, cool down. They violated no laws nor the trust of anyone who understands that exclusivity is not necessarily a permanent condition
The MU Uniforms and Closed Beta Access were part of the $200 deal. If I picked one part of the offer as a reason to pay $200 that's my business. Cryptic took my money and I'm entitled to everything that was advertised in the offer.
Captain's Table is a different story. Nothing was advertised. It was a total freebie.
I second this. Let the unwashed masses in to the Captain's Table. Maybe people would actually use it for a change.
