Injuries... Injuries... Injuries... List

If you would like to help me maintain this list, it would be appreciated. Thank you.

Update #1: Just realized the differences in wording. Shield Damage [minor] is not the same as Shield Malfunction [major] or Shield Failure [critical].
Update #2: Injuries stack. 3 Warp Core Failures. Oh joy.
Update #3: Added a few ground injuries after getting owned in a few B'Tran missions. :)

    thanks for the info there

seems like injury would add alot to the game

but i was thinking scars and a leg blown off or something

and you have to go to see a doctor to get a new face and leg

How about a way to fricking fix them.

Been sitting space doing nothing for the last 30 minutes and only one of mine has worn off. I have 2 more criticals that are still hanging around. Are criticals around for like an hour?

I put it back to normal after my first death and died 2 more times. Yeah! Now sitting with 2 criticals that aren't going away, even after the first minor dropped after 1/2 hour.

Great job on this. I'm very upset as there's not explanantion, no time note on how much longer it'll last and no way to get it off (that I know of, as again...no in game explanation!!!!)

I cannot express how upset I am at this game right now. I have an RA5 and enjoyed leveling, but this is horrible. (current debuffs on a Commander 5).

To fix a critical you have to go to the starbase ship repair guy in the shipyard and give him your first born son. ::D I dont know if those criticals will go away over time.

Only minor inuries/damage heals or repairs over time, 30 minutes to be precise. Major can be cured by the major components/hypos, minor can be cured on the fly with the minor version of same. Critical as far as I know requires a trip to a major starbase. Very good list by the way.

I would love to know how much the OP has to spend to get the ship's damage repaired. (I'm sorry I just can't bring myself to say that ships get "injured")

Could someone give us an idea of repair costs? Thanks in advance!

100EC for minor, 800EC for major, 1600EC for critical, at keast for officer injuries. I assume the costs are mirrored for ship damage.

Someone in game finally told me about having to go to the SOL system to fix them.

I did, although it took me 10 minutes and asking in Zone to find the guy to fix them.

    Thanks Cryptic.

Just cancelled my subscription. Fortunately for you my date you charge my CC is the 29th so I got stuck with another month of paying you.

    I'm done.

I personally don't mind having to pay for repairs, etc...but a little notice and information on where to go (and where the person is when we get there) would have been nice!!!!

I had two critical debuffs on my ship...took 10 minutes of running around SOL to figure out who to talk to.

There are two separate repair people. One for ships (in shipyard) and one for your BO's in the personnel area.

None of my BO's were damaged. My 2 critical debuffs cost 8K each..so 16,000.

I have an RA5 and this Commander 5 who needed the repair so the cash wasn't a big deal.

Back when I started this new character I had 800,000 on my RA5 and COULD NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO SEND CASH so I sent a bunch of Non-bound stuff to her and sold it.

Just FYI...if cash is able to be sent...LET PEOPLE KNOW HOW TO DO IT! I couldn't figure it out and I played WoW for years.

So frustrated with this game. More so than I've ever been with any game.

I really wanted to like it too. Kept trying to enjoy it. I love leveling...but it got to the point of not being worth it.

Peace out all. I know others will enjoy the game...but I've found its not my cup of tea.

And no...my stuff dies with me :)

All that stuff was announced ahead of time, discussed/debated thoroughly in multiple subforums, and the details were in the release notes. You obviously knew something of the system to change your setting from normal where injury/damage doesn't accumulate.

EDIY: Just to add, there is a small quest series that introduces all of this, tells where the NPCs are on the starbase, and even gives you some free repair/heal kits. I suggest you get in the habit of checking for any new quests on your Contact Starfleet button each time you log in, you would have found it had you done that.

I suggest you stop playing so much and realize there are people who have real lives and real jobs and don't have time to check "patch notes" and such.

Sorry...but I can't log in every day and check everything. And I can't check the website everyday for updates.

Some in game help would have been nice. It wasn't there from what I can see. I spent 2-3 hours trying to figure this stuff out.

I'm done. Deal with it. Not everyone is a "career officer" with time to play everyday.

And all that quest did was say go to the SOL system and talk to this officer. NO mention of where he/she is....nothing.

@ attacko: you are welcome! ^___^ although I don't know how fun it would be having a limb lopped off lol.

@ TheWalkingLost: you are welcome! Glad I could help! Maybe you can help me get this stickied! :)

@ cocoa-jin: Yes, I really like these injuries... although the Warp Core Critical is a pain in the TRIBBLE$ !!! :)

@ zestren: Have no fear! you can have all your injuries fixed :)

@ Freebird: thank you for clarification :D

@ DeWitt_LSF: Thank you! That's my favorite quote in your signature btw. I am a Texas resident myself!

@ TerriLynn: Some of the MINOR injuries are free. One of them was 500. MAJOR was 4,000 each. CRITICAL was 8,000 EACH... Yes... 8,000. My experiment was costly... lol.

Here's a photo of all the injuries... lol. Injuries Photo

I'm sorry I didn't copy the exact text, but I had critical ship damage that was Transporter <something> and reduced the effectiveness of the Sci/Tac/Eng Team skills, I believe -15 to each.

I've also seen a minor version of the sickbay damage one and a critical auxiliary system one.

To the people raging about finding the people to fix your crew/ship, while you do the walkthrough quests their location is circled on your map of the starbase. The game literally walks you through it, and circles mark the spots.

I posted an initial idea => [thread=154498]here[/thread] <= about how we could turn the Injury system into something socially positive for the game (Science players treating other players injuries and Engineering players fixing other players Starships).

Please consider contributing to it, to make it happen.
(in particular, a parallel Engineering thread would be great)

    Thanks.

Just for the record, critical repair kits do exist. I've not visited a store to buy yet but I did get a critical patch as a drop while running dailies. As for in game information, there is a quest right up top from admiral Quinn that runs you around to the new contacts who will explain everything to you. It's generally a good idea to check all the contacts after a major patch anyway so you can find the new content and in STO you can do all of them from one menu, which is very nice.

Thank you for providing a compilation of this information. I'll be cranking up to elite for my dailies and will add anything that I come across

Personally, I like the injury/systems damage system a lot.
It makes me accountable for my actions, and helps immersion.
(Personal Log: "Lt Blank suffered a broken leg on the last mission. he's on light duties for a week.")

I'd like ships that get below a certain amount of Hull Integrity to have a chance to accumulate damaged systems, too.

Say.. each time this occurs, a chance of a damaged system:

    HI <75% - Minor
    HI <50% - Major
    HI <25% - Critical

Pretty sure this is a minority view, but it would make perfect sense to me.

The idea of other players being able to repair my ship is excellent.
In a way, they could already do it with components trading, but extending it would be nice.

I actually think that the option to play on advanced or elite and deal with the benefits and also the repercussions is one of the best moves in the current release of STO. Last night I logged in for the first time in a month and played a few hours on elite. It was challenging! I had the feeling before that it was way too nerfed and I was loosing interest but not so much now. Playing on Elite I got two random blues and a handful of greens that sold on AH today for about 100k, I also had to go repair several times spending about 80k. The final result to me is a more rewarding experience that is still quite playable even solo. :D Good job Cryptic!

Now where in the heck do you buy the Repair tokens?!?!??!!?
