Lifers already got their reward...

I keep seeing debates Blue Vs Subscirbers over Veteran Rewards and how Lifetime subscribers need compensation for everyone else getting Vet Rewards...

Here is my problem with the issue:

Lifetime Subscribers already have their reward...

After 2-3 years you will have made back your money (vs subscribing) and will be playing the game for free from then on...

Seems like a pretty good reward to me...

The reward goes to active accounts. Obviously lifetime players will be active years from now.

So, that would mean we would get those as well.

But you get access to lifetime stuff too, just further down the road. Check the rewards. You can get into the Captain's table, given enough time.

What was the monthly on this game again? If I remember right, the lifetime sub was like pre-paying for 18 months. so yeah I guess you could say after just over 3 years you've made your money back. Anyway, yeah I agree and that's the perk. I appreciate the extras that Cryptic has thrown us, but you know it's their prerogative to give it to veterans who pay month to month and I have no complaint about it.

As I've posted on the other QQ thread, I fully agree with non-lifers getting similar rewards for their time spent playing the game. From the general feel of that thread; many other lifers also feel the same way.

Edit: And the reason I've never had my blue tag activated until now is to avoid the "I'm a lifer so I'm better than you" BS a lot of lifers love to throw around on the forums.

Remember, people paying a subscription each month have more economic power.

So a lifer says apease me....

Why? You paid your money, appease you to get a little more from the c-store and perhaps the periodic expansion?

Makes more economic sense to appease the people paying each month.

As the OP said, my reward is that I get payback after a few months.

If we didn't. our names would not be blue.

If you don't, why do you think you deserve reward?

I find both sides of this argument ridiculous.

On the one hand, it comes off as "I bribed people for this Emmy! You cant take it from me" (That's not what happened, but thats how it comes off). On the other its "I don't want to study, but if I fail, its the teachers who failed me."

Certainly more people QQ from the "I don't want to take the risk, but I want all the reward" crew, but it just isn't as... impassioned.

people are impatient, they want rewards, they want them now, and they don't want anybody else to have them.
people are too fickle and look at the short term, like what'll happen tomorrow, instead of what will happen next week =/

oh well, it's thier money, if they want to pay to complain, i say let them, in the long run their money, pays my developers, that makes my game better =D, so plz, pay-2-complain more :P it means more money for development costs =D
    (not that you're complaining popkornn :P )

Just think they should of gave lifers the table and kept everyone's forum colors the same...

90% of the fighting between groups started with the forum color change...

Let the blues have the table nobody wants it anyway, change the forum name colors back to 1 color for all, and lets us all live in peace...

This. As I posted in the other thread, the only determining factor for me was never having to pay a sub fee ever again. The rest were just icing on the cake, so to speak. With the exception of the Lib Borg (which I feel should be available to ALL lifetime subbers, not just those of us that jumped at the chance when it was first announced), I don't care which of the other perks are available for the Veteran Rewards. This debate is just plain silly, IMHO.

Dude if SWG lasted 8 this will last more than 2. This game is 100x beyond where SWG was at launch and is today in many way. The only thing I prefer in SWG over this game is the dynamics of space flight, but that said the system here does not have me begging for a refund.

    ABSOLUTELY agree with this.

I dont have to WALK, because there's no mounts and no ground vehicles, from major cities, up hill (both ways) to a Bounty target, who then has the audacity to be unattackable (either "white" dot, or spawning in a building, or worse, in water... )

HOW long did it take Sony to get that fixed?

Cryptic should reconsider bringing the liberate borg back into the LTS, reduce the price to pre-launch and promote it aggressively. It may help with subscriber adoption.

I'd move to have LB for all LTS, and MU for all pre-order and CO LTS (not just CO). Add something small and unique in for the CO LTSer MU (like keep the preorder LTS MU to Kirk's top), then throw in any other MU era costume BUT TOS into the vet system.

Then again, is it wise to continue pushing LTS this late in? The real need was to boost the out-of-gate performance of the game, wasn't it? continuing to support LTS makes less and less sense to Cryptic as it approaches the 18 and 20 month marks (where they begin losing money on the pre and post launch LTSers)

The debate really isn't between Blue v. Subscribers

It's more like Imperius versus the forum.

That said, I do not care if subscribers gain access as a veteran reward. There's plenty of cake to go around as far as digital goods are concerned. :D

No, all the fighting was still around. The blue names was just one more dumb reason on top of the huge pile of dumb reasons to fight.

Well looks like cryptic is back to their old habit of setting the forums on fire on fridays and letting them burn over the weekend.

lifers shouldn't get so upset, I really don't see anything that would keep a monthly sub resubbing for 400 days considering you can finish everything in 30. A year of dailies is a long time only the most masochistic would go that long.

Good advice, and it looks like most lifers are taking that advice.

Sure it will. Even the worst games last for years before going offline. I do think though that this game will be F2P in two years.

"Lifers" aren't upset about this. Only a very few Lifers that I've noticed, on any of the similar threads, are upset about this.

Actually, most of us Lifers who have posted about this subject think the Vet rewards are a great idea and we welcome more players to the Captains Table.

I am a lifetime subscriber and have removed the blue title in protest, as I am not proud to be a lifer in the least (I feel more like a sucker).

Secondly, am I really getting my money's worth, if the product is so sub-standard that I don't even play it now? The actual length of a lifetime subscriber kick back is around 1.4 months, so I am assuming you are including a few extra years to include the fact that the game is super lackluster and people may not even be using the product.

If this is the case, i would have MUCH rather been a monthly subber... so that I could have saved money by not paying for the months (or years) that I am not even using the service/product.

I don't care who gets what, to be honest. I am just glad I get to play for free. That was the point of the lifetime. I didn't even know I'd get extra stuff until later on.

I'm glad others will get them as well.
