Should the missions in the nebulas (aid the planet, secure the base etc etc) be random or do you think they should change it so you can select which type you want to play
Many people skip aid the planet because they find it dull, or skip the ground missions because they dont like ground.
Now I appreciate its meant to be random but if you could choose the type of mission to play it might make people decide to play them more.
Maybe these areas should be broken down into a view similar to sector blocks with different sectors having different missions types.
ie because they have changed the aid the planet missions, i suddenly have the desire to go on a giant trading run but you never know when you are going to get one.
We are looking into tech to allow this as part of the Federation Diplomatic Corps, but we do not anticipate you'll be able to specifically select I want this exact mission. We want you to be able to skew the types of missions you get based on whether you prefer combat or non-combat.
Sometimes all I want to do is an enemy confrontation. Blast a few NPC ships into oblivion to release some stress.
Yep. Me too. Especially when I'm trying out a new ship or ship loadout. It never fails that I will get a couple dozen (no joke, I counted once) non-combat or ground missions when what I needed was some space combat to test some new equipment or BO skills.

ok, thanks for the quick reply. i like the idea that it can be split into combat or not combat, that would be helpful, and welcome.
maybe in the future i think it might be helpful to then split it further into space or ground, or at least keep that in mind for what ever content you come up with after that, as sometimes you really just want to do one or the other and chances are you get the mission you dont want

So this is a little different from what I've heard before.
So, reading between the lines, you could use dimplomatic (non-combat) missions to progress in rank.
I was under the impression that diplomatic "scoring" was a parallel progression and wouldnt provide you with a way to get to say RA5 without fighting. I would think that "grinding" political missions might give you some, but not as much progression since you are also building up diplomacy points (whatever that scale may be).
Would love to hear more about this from you dsthal.
