my favorite thing to do was solo first part of infected and kill the tactical cube but then the patch came beefing up the tactical and adding the waves of borg before the gate gets to 30 and the tactical cube comes ok fine i wnet klingon so i could have more science and all was fine it took a long time but i could get thru it.now this patch viral matrix is worthless ok fine but now i cant even use sensor jammers because the borg reverse it withen a few seconds i cant even get past the first patrols not to mention my sensor jammers has a cool down of a minute 40 seconds.sucks is all anytime people start getting going and having a system u guys nerf or destroy it reverse shield polarity is pretty strong why not make it 5 seconds and beef its cool down 10 minutes...to me it does not seem that peopel who actually play the game are making the decisions to change things.the same people that made eps consoles 3.0 decided it was too much so lets do more than make it half as powerful and go to 1.3 if you thought u made such a bad choice gibving eps 3.0 how would u know for sure cutting it more than in half is a good idea? or viral matrix was a cool thing i had almost 30 seconds on so lets make it max 12 seconds take away its best attribute so its totally worthless why not just delete the skill totally....seems that the sto universe is run by people who dont play the game and take only the advice of a few people who complain on forums its not like we didnt have science team to reverse viral matrix

i will figure out a way to do it again and why shouldnt people be allowed to solo once in awhile?u play with 5 people only 1 person gets the good item.i just dont think the people making these patches are doing the right thing.how bout instead of nerfing skills throw in a new ship or 2 for each race .look what they did with weapons now every single ship will be able to have the best weapons in the game only7 marks for anytype weapon?mk x rare weapons no longer have any value i just saying they dont know what they are doing and my frustrations is just one persons.
bridge Commander was an awesome game and much better pvp game even 10 years ago. if this game was not startrek i would never have gotten it.
Gongo, as mentioned by Amonaug, you need to start typing in complete, well thought-out sentences, or I'm going to start reporting your posts as trolling. It's not worth my time to keep trying to make sense out of your run-on rambling, and all you're doing is whining that Cryptic took away your ability to farm shiny loot that you could then turn around and sell for ridiculous prices (which is trolling anyway).
That said, my previous point still stands. There are plenty of things that are solo-able in this game. The STF missions are designed to be group encounters, and that is why the tactical cube is guaranteed to drop a blue/purple item - because you have an entire group all working together and expecting a reward for their effort. So what if you have to run it 5 times to give everyone an "equal" chance at getting an end-game loot item? That's part of MMO gaming - running encounters/missions/instances/raids/etc. over and over again until everyone involved gets everything they want out of it.
If you just want to farm the tactical cube, that's your choice, but you are going to have to find 4 other people who feel the same way, and you're going to have to share the loot with them. Cryptic never intended to allow players to farm that ship, and you can expect them to keep making changes away from it until it becomes impossible to even come close to solo farming it.

While you did tie in a point about how some of the skills you relied on were changed, the fact is you are here to complain that you can't farm a specific NPC in a specific instance anymore. Funny thing is, though, the term "obsolete" is relative, and depends on a comparision to something designed to replace it. If you want anyone to listen to you, especially the developers, then you need to form complete ideas, give positive feedback on what kinds of changes YOU would like to see, and post in complete, gramatically correct sentences. If you fail to do any of those three things, then you are just going to be ignored, and your frustration with the game, the developers, and the community will only continue to rise.

Maybe he was just trying to help you state your case...as in others wanting to read your post. If it s unorganized, than people aren't going to want to read it. All your doing at that point is wasting your time with a huge wall of uncernable words and poor punctuation.

As far as loot? It comes and goes........my goal is to complete the mission.....don't really care about loot too much as it's a want, not a need.
If I need weapons, I'll craft or grind to get what I need as weapons only make you half a captain anyway. Its the skill that predesignates survival.

I don't care how good you think you are, but personally find it quite difficult to believe that you were capable of Tanking anything in STF prior to patch or not. Especially as they haven't increased the difficulty in the Season 1.1 patch...
They DID increase the difficult within a week of release and not touched it since, it also is unaffected by the Difficulty Slider. The only difference made in the patch wasn't mission specific, but rather they have nerfed the science consoles, abilities and ships.
Another thing they have done is given the Borg new abilities, one that particularly irritates me in a way that the cuss filter of the forum won't let me express is the "Nanite Shield Drainer" appears to be attached to one of their torpedos which they can fire every 10 seconds. What is more annoying is this damn thing affects you for 15 seconds. Basically it means the Borg cube can destroy your shields in a matter of seconds with no chance in hell of being able to bring them back, seriously I've had Science Team III and Reverse Shield Polarisation which in any ordinary circumstance should regenerate my shields back to full keeping them there until the abilities run out ... but no, now I get back a fraction of shields which the Nanites destroy again in seconds. If this wasn't bad enough they also are capable of Assimilation (where they beam aboard and damage systems) far more frequently.
It honestly changes the dynamics of fighting the Borg to a point where while it is still fairly simply even at Elite to take down Spheres and Probes; but the Cubes and Tactical Cubes will just TRIBBLE without backup.

The bridge between a believable living universe and nothing but fan server apparently is a very short one given how much this game can flip between very well structured missions and nothing but effectively name-dropping / guest appearances that fans will recognise.
To be honest I think the issue for this is actually more the fact that Cryptic are too set in the MMO mantra of "No one will read the story, they just want experience and loot" ... See it all the time in basically MMO I've ever played, but the thing that disappoints me is there is enough lore and from the overarching storyline some good plots they could build upon. Just kinda wish there was some people on the staff who were more well versed with single player design.
As far as the content, eh. I'm not a fan of making the Borg almost-immune to everything in the "sensors" line specifically. I think they should 'adapt' over the course of the encounter to whatever BO powers you keep throwing at them, not specific ones. Including defenses.

From what I could suss out:
VM: Is not useless, in fact in many ways it is better now. You just have to, you know, learn to use it now. It is about timing and synergizing it with other science abilities. In capable hands, VM is more deadly now, as it can almost permanently keep subsystems down, allowing things like target subsystems and tykens rift, to slip in there and nuke the living hull out of a ships ability to do anything but pop engineering teams, science teams, and tactical teams, as they try and keep up with the debuffs. In a fight, it takes two equal opponents, and when used right, knocks the other guy off balance, just long enough to give him a good black eye.
But for those who enjoyed the iWin functions, oh well. There will be a new iWin combo soon, do not worry. A lot of people spend a lot of time and energy finding the cheapest form of winning, that if they spent actually learning how to play, they'd be good no matter what patches did to their skills.

I'm not sure what you're talking about in your OP, but apparently you want to nerf Reverse Shield Polarity into uselessness. Let's not do that. I like my Reverse Shield Polarity the way it is, thanks. A five second duration wouldn't really be noticeable, and a long recharge on top of that would just be silly.

You are totally wrong.. IMO... here's a post that will address your statements... not your grammar.. although it's horrible.
1) Obsolete gear from Tact Cube: That's not the case if you destroy the Transwarp Gate you do get a purple drop for not destroying any of the 3 transmitters surrounding it. So yes, soloing the cube without progressing through the mission is useless but that was NEVER the intention of that STF mission. It was meant as only the first encounter in a 5man group mission. If you want to solo farm loot then do B'Tran Exploration Mission on Elite difficulty. I've gotten several blue Mk IX and Mk X gear from those so far.
2)Blue gear + Exchange being useless: That's not true whatsoever. Can you acquire Marks of Valor or Exploration or Honor as soon as you hit RA1? NO! So for people who like to stay ahead of the curve they will still use the exchange to buy really good blue Mk X gear as soon as they hit RA. That will keep them goin until they hit RA3-5 and start acquiring badges to turn in. Even still the exchange can be used to supplement some pieces while buying others with badges and therefore fully equipping your ship/character much faster. Finally, let's not forget about the other 40 levels in this game lol. There are PLENTY of uses for the exchange for the thousands of characters that are not RA. Ergo, credits are not obsolete.
3) Viral Matrix: Yes, the nerf on this ability does suck... but the devs were not just randomly changing things for fun, they had a purpose. It was discovered that this ability was totally overpowered when used with certain other abillities (like Jam Sensors) and basically impletemented a guaranteed win scenario. Too many people were taking advantage of this and the devs changed the ability to bring better balance to the game overall. Unlike you, the devs DO understand that changing one thing affects many other things... they were actually counting on this. With the ability not quite so overpowered it would make players adjust they're tactics and use other combinations of abilities.

While I can sympathize with your problem.....your intent holds no water. The balance put in place is there for a reason. No I didn't whine to cyrptic to change it.......but if it must be done to foster better game experience....there you go.
As far as loot? It comes and goes........my goal is to complete the mission.....don't really care about loot too much as it's a want, not a need.
If I need weapons, I'll craft or grind to get what I need as weapons only make you half a captain anyway. Its the skill that predesignates survival.

They DID increase the difficult within a week of release and not touched it since, it also is unaffected by the Difficulty Slider. The only difference made in the patch wasn't mission specific, but rather they have nerfed the science consoles, abilities and ships.
Another thing they have done is given the Borg new abilities, one that particularly irritates me in a way that the cuss filter of the forum won't let me express is the "Nanite Shield Drainer" appears to be attached to one of their torpedos which they can fire every 10 seconds. What is more annoying is this damn thing affects you for 15 seconds. Basically it means the Borg cube can destroy your shields in a matter of seconds with no chance in hell of being able to bring them back, seriously I've had Science Team III and Reverse Shield Polarisation which in any ordinary circumstance should regenerate my shields back to full keeping them there until the abilities run out ... but no, now I get back a fraction of shields which the Nanites destroy again in seconds. If this wasn't bad enough they also are capable of Assimilation (where they beam aboard and damage systems) far more frequently.
It honestly changes the dynamics of fighting the Borg to a point where while it is still fairly simply even at Elite to take down Spheres and Probes; but the Cubes and Tactical Cubes will just TRIBBLE without backup.
Althought I do agree on one of the other points;
The bridge between a believable living universe and nothing but fan server apparently is a very short one given how much this game can flip between very well structured missions and nothing but effectively name-dropping / guest appearances that fans will recognise.
To be honest I think the issue for this is actually more the fact that Cryptic are too set in the MMO mantra of "No one will read the story, they just want experience and loot" ... See it all the time in basically MMO I've ever played, but the thing that disappoints me is there is enough lore and from the overarching storyline some good plots they could build upon. Just kinda wish there was some people on the staff who were more well versed with single player design.
As far as the content, eh. I'm not a fan of making the Borg almost-immune to everything in the "sensors" line specifically. I think they should 'adapt' over the course of the encounter to whatever BO powers you keep throwing at them, not specific ones. Including defenses.

From what I could suss out:
VM: Is not useless, in fact in many ways it is better now. You just have to, you know, learn to use it now. It is about timing and synergizing it with other science abilities. In capable hands, VM is more deadly now, as it can almost permanently keep subsystems down, allowing things like target subsystems and tykens rift, to slip in there and nuke the living hull out of a ships ability to do anything but pop engineering teams, science teams, and tactical teams, as they try and keep up with the debuffs. In a fight, it takes two equal opponents, and when used right, knocks the other guy off balance, just long enough to give him a good black eye.
But for those who enjoyed the iWin functions, oh well. There will be a new iWin combo soon, do not worry. A lot of people spend a lot of time and energy finding the cheapest form of winning, that if they spent actually learning how to play, they'd be good no matter what patches did to their skills.

I'm not sure what you're talking about in your OP, but apparently you want to nerf Reverse Shield Polarity into uselessness. Let's not do that. I like my Reverse Shield Polarity the way it is, thanks. A five second duration wouldn't really be noticeable, and a long recharge on top of that would just be silly.
There are plenty of ESL posters and most people flame the ones that jump them for no real reason.

You are totally wrong.. IMO... here's a post that will address your statements... not your grammar.. although it's horrible.
1) Obsolete gear from Tact Cube: That's not the case if you destroy the Transwarp Gate you do get a purple drop for not destroying any of the 3 transmitters surrounding it. So yes, soloing the cube without progressing through the mission is useless but that was NEVER the intention of that STF mission. It was meant as only the first encounter in a 5man group mission. If you want to solo farm loot then do B'Tran Exploration Mission on Elite difficulty. I've gotten several blue Mk IX and Mk X gear from those so far.
2)Blue gear + Exchange being useless: That's not true whatsoever. Can you acquire Marks of Valor or Exploration or Honor as soon as you hit RA1? NO! So for people who like to stay ahead of the curve they will still use the exchange to buy really good blue Mk X gear as soon as they hit RA. That will keep them goin until they hit RA3-5 and start acquiring badges to turn in. Even still the exchange can be used to supplement some pieces while buying others with badges and therefore fully equipping your ship/character much faster. Finally, let's not forget about the other 40 levels in this game lol. There are PLENTY of uses for the exchange for the thousands of characters that are not RA. Ergo, credits are not obsolete.
3) Viral Matrix: Yes, the nerf on this ability does suck... but the devs were not just randomly changing things for fun, they had a purpose. It was discovered that this ability was totally overpowered when used with certain other abillities (like Jam Sensors) and basically impletemented a guaranteed win scenario. Too many people were taking advantage of this and the devs changed the ability to bring better balance to the game overall. Unlike you, the devs DO understand that changing one thing affects many other things... they were actually counting on this. With the ability not quite so overpowered it would make players adjust they're tactics and use other combinations of abilities.
