In Defense of Cryptic and Bugs

Bugs are bugs. We all know they exist, they will arise later, and they will be quashed with time.

Now, does the current update have bugs? Sure, probably (although I myself have not bumped into them in any of my travels), but we also have to note the amount of things changed in this update. Sure, there's not a lot of things that are immediately noticeable, but if you read the change log, its quite a massive list, and no one should be surprised somethings went amok.

Now what's kind of eluding me is the nerd rage that's going on in the forums about the existence of said bugs. I for one remember beta when completing a mission in and of itself was impossible, let alone trying to hold a PVP match of any kind -- THOSE were bugs. These are ... mites, of some kind.

But lets say for the sake of argument they are TERRIBLE, DETRIMENTAL bugs that will hinder your enjoyment of this game for days to come. If release date on the calendar for this update came and passed without it, would you have understood patiently that there were more bugs to work out, or would you be beating down Cryptic's door with a pitchfork because they missed the calendar date? Something tells me you'd be checking with your farmer friends on their tool collection.

Cryptic has a set amount of time to implement changes on tribble, for those bugs to be found on tribble, and for those bugs to be squashed before the patch HAS to go out. I am no more of a fan of the lack of content in the game than the next guy, but in this bug regard I think we ought to cut them some slack and give them a bit to brush out the kinks.
