Please elaborate OP. I'm sitting at work biding my time til I can go play and now I'm worried about this. What did they do to EPS? I will be ****ed if I have to change my set-up again so I can remain effective in PvP due to changes in game mechanics.
So long as PvPers keep whining instead of learning to play better, the nerfs will never stop. History has proven this time and time again.
Changes to SNB, FBP were needed.
Changes to VM was a bit extreme making the skill somewhat un-useful.
This balance pass was decent.
Overall Cryptic needs to either add more useful skills...or buff other skills because right now everyone has the same 5 BO abilities and that makes for stale game play...
but at least now a cruiser with 2 RSP can't take abuse from 4 ships for 3 minutes before dieing.

Sure you can I tested all my ships today. For the most part cruisers get ignored because they really made the escort crunchy. Hell I can survive 3 minutes with one RSP because no one targets me unless I zerg into a pew-pew ball and start laying the smack down. You should to see me run my annoying eff you setup in my cruisers with 4 RSPs 2 eng teams and aceton beam for stubborn targets oh and sprinkle in a little sci team. The only thing that stops me is when 3 escorts hit me with TSS3 at the same time and I am down 300 energy to shields.
If you devs hate EPS consoles so much, why don't you just take them out of the game completely instead of ninja nerfing them?
Just because they changed the way the numbers on them are displayed (and made it a much easier stat to understand in doing so) ... you ... think ... they got ... nerfed?
They did nothing to EPS consoles. They changed the statistic it displays when you look at it. It's now a percentage based stat. Instead of a decimal number.
The item works exactly the same. No change other than display.
That the OP thinks they were nerfed is pretty amazing. This thread is pretty amazing.

Typical excuse of the pve feddybear children.
The only pvp'ers who whine are the feddybears who spend all there time fighting the dumb AI. They then feel all uber and so decide to go into a pvp match expecting the enemy not to use any of its skills, just like the AI they do so well against.
Shock followed by a quick death then results in a forum post about how (insert any ability here) is over powered.
So, to correct your assumption its the very bad pve players who are calling for the nerf bat all the time. We pvp'ers just get on with it and learn to adapt.

My 1.3 (130%) are now 126%. Is maths hard for you?
But Cryptic are outstanding Ninjas! They totally Ninja Nuked CO on launch day! So a Ninja Nerf is no big deal to them.
I like this defense. Not only is it wrong, but it makes the beta absolutely pointless.
Changes made to the game were from closed and open beta.
So the final game didn't change at all, it began that way.
But that's neither here nor there.
To the OP: I predict that you'll change your signature until the results are exactly what you changed them to.

Wow. You must not be very familiar with Cryptic's game engine.
Good show though. Jolly good show.
For further homework I suggest digging through some Champions Online material about Crit Severity and percentages. The maths you discover will be ... entertaining.

Oh yes. They should have kept things the way they were so that no one used any console other than EPS. That way, they could remove all the other engineering consoles from the game, and then players wouldn't have to be pestered with making decisions.
I'm just happy we have a more straightforward tool tip. And even if there is a slight decimal micro nerf (SDMN tm) to the console... being a Science captain that is the absolute least nerf I'm worried about with this update.

you do realise that what they did just made the problem you describe even worse, yes? two consoles now do not even equate to the same increase as a single EPS console before the nerfbat, so now rather than just being able to use 1 console and 2 other engineering ones, you have to use 2 EPS or even 3. fail argument is fail.

never heard of rounding up? round up 1.26 and what do ya get? It could have always 1.26. Not saying it was - saying it could have been.

LOL this ^^
If I found out something was nerfed .02% I would not complain. I am sure it was rounded up and now made specific for the hardcore math guru.
Cryptic hates maths! Where's mah pitchfork?! Light the torches! Dammit, I need moar exclamation points!!!
