I have not experienced this since game launch. Play for 15-30 minutes then I am disconnected from the server. All my drivers are up to date. My internet connection is stable. So it has to be the recent Season 1.1 update/patch. And I just recently put in more money to my subscribtion. Just when I thought I can play this game without interruption.
I am also having this problem and when I email Cryptic they keep telling me it's a firewall issue and I don't even have it activated. I've played countless hours until the recent update and now it's disconnecting every time I change instances nearly.
I am a new player, just started Friday and I am getting disconnects quite often. I know my ISP is working correctly because my other computers work fine when I get disconnected. I have turned off all firewalls and A/V and still fails. I also run the game as admin and still disconnects me. I hope this gets resolved soon.:(

Same here. Just recently, I've been getting disconnected on a fairly regular basis. I can play any number of other games online surf, watch videos, and it's perfect. STO however drops me every 30 minutes.
Did a Traceroute, everything looks okay. Nettest won't run past the first Port80 line. Just sits there. Am running it as admin. This is a new install of Win7
That usually means something is blocking either the program or the ports tested. The game required ports 7000-7500 to be unblocked and unfiltered to work.
Those are forwarded from my router. Two weeks ago this wasn't a problem, now it is. And the issue doesn't occur at night. I can play from about 2am-8am CST without ever disconnecting, but come after 10, it's all over.
you ISP (or one of thier routing partners) might be applying traffic managemnt and filtering at those time. Most ISP filter and change thier filtering scheme depending on time of day and traffic load.
They also update software and hardware without telling thier users what they have done.
I use [Name Removed] as my ISP, so I contacted them about this issue. They say that they do not participate in any bandwidth shaping of any kind. However, they do block specific ports: 137-139, 445, 520, 1068, 1080.
I connected ANOTHER computer (a laptop) directly into my modem and I have the same issue. Disconnects every 15-30 min.
Talked to my ISP again today. Got them to transfer me to the NOC. They ran some tests (while I was playing). They said they didn't see anything being blocked. They also relayed that they don't even really look at anything above port 2000 or so, and even if they were bandwidth shaping (which they confirmed that they do not), I wasn't generating enough traffic anyway.
plz try this: Start the Holodek and Tribble at the same time.
I leave the Tribble in the background, and try to play on Holodek. I got a few disconnects on Holodek, but i am at the same time online on the tribble server, without disconnect.
So, it can be the Problem by my ISP. If i lost the connection, the Tribble Client must then too lost the connection. But if he dont loose the connection, there are no problem with it.
I have a lot of disconnects since Patch 1.1, there is no fun to play! And no answer to my ticket, only the standard answer.
actual you can disconnect on one and not the other. It is a question of ports. Since the ports are changing with changing of map servers if one port is blocke(delayed) but another is not then you will disconnect on one and not the other. And the ports are randomly changed when you switch map servers
Ping is fairly important when it comes to playing online. It's basically the time between what happens on the server and you. If it takes 50ms for information from the server to hit you and vice versa, the target or you might already be dead.

Well I got a very good ping but i get disconnects too, dunno why and sometimes i get very stupid ugly laggs
So, I got nothin'. Ever since this 1.1 patch I'm dropping every 15-30. Unless I play in the early morning when no one's on. ISP says it's not them, Cryptic says... well nothing so far.
just adding a me too. ping is excellent, speed is upwards of 30mbps . I just put in a new router, still have the issue. updated nic drivers, still have the issue.
I don't have this problem in any other game. I don't want to point fingers, I just want to figure it out and fix it.
