It said it on the main page for the Season 1.1 update a few days ago as well. They just altered it to say Dervish Costume instead without any explanation.
CBS had some issues with the Nomad and asked for a redesign - so it had to be pushed out. It is being replaced by the Maelstrom (which is ready to go).
Looking at the schedule - I don't think these items are releasing until April 29. I've got a request out to the ship artist to get some screens of the Nomad so you can at least see what they're working on.

Thanks for the answer.
Back to waiting patiently. /sigh ... are Pakleds still happening at least?

Then you should have said something outright and not attempted to pretend like we all went dumb or something. Its that kind of TRIBBLE that ****es us off. I don't blame you Dstahl, but seriously, whoever keeps making those "maybe they won't notice" decisions needs a talking to. Just be honest with us and we may be understanding.
So will be be waiting for it now unil the Season 2 update since the Science one is due up next or will we get it as soon as its approved?
Well, thanks for letting us know. However, a little announcement before this went live like this would have been nice. The Nomad was really the only thing I had been looking forward to in this update.

You guys took a huge risk making this game. Seems CBS is holding you back, and that's not good. If you design any ship that is too close to cannon, they are going to shut you down. So you are forced to design ships that we most likely will not like.

Like I told my last boss, "John, you think you know best, well go blow it out your TRIBBLE" ....
Feel free to use this statement with the CBS desk jockey who made that decision (no worries, I wave copyright on it). Also tell them CSI: Miami blows too....
Well this kinda sucks a lot... i was waiting for this ship and its not here because you guys didnt want to get approval let the last min? Thats bad business
And you already had the escort done ? wtf? how did that one get approved before the nomad???
However, a little announcement before this went live like this would have been nice. The Nomad was really the only thing I had been looking forward to in this update.
I kind of think this IS the little announcement before it goes live.
The C-Store updates aren't part of the patching process (as we found out with the very first big patch and its C-Store stuff going up separate). They also aren't totally up yet (no Pakleds as of my typing this right now).
As an illustrator and artist, I can certainly tell you that there have been plenty of times where my work's run tight close to deadline. And then other issues (like editorial changes) end up pushing it past deadline.
I get the feeling this is the case here. As the posts on the forums and talk on the testing sever all seemed to indicate that the Nomad was full steam ahead. As recently as yesterday.
I think this is our big head's up given to us as early as they could.

Let me guess, Cryptics design for the Nomad made Star Cruisers look like something other than a giant space sperm?
A screenshot prior to the release of the Nomad-class could be a good thing. Then we could look at it tell the dev's that the emergency escape pods are covered by the engine nacelles, like the Maelstrom class ...
Sseriously?! How do you miss that one? What's the thought process behind that ... or does it not matter and who really cares? Take a look at the C-Store screenies for the Maelstrom and see what i'm talking about; the aft "saucer section" (if you can call it that) escape pods are covered by the nacelles ... hate to be the one trying to use those in the event of an emergency.
Oh, and the ship looks to be drawn with a "uni-body" construction in mind ... so no - no separation of the hull and saucer. Think of another excuse.

No no no. Im an architect. You dont let deadlines run this late, before flashing it before the big boss. ESPECIALLY, when the maelstrom was done already and approved?? Even though its official launch was another 3 weeks away!
The work that was being done on maelstrom should have been done on Nomad. and it should have been approved earlier. Surely they must submit ship concept art before they go ahead and build the model. seems a waste other wise.
Anyway, cryptic, remember your GANTT CHARTS next time
Clearly some are frustrated and thats understandable - but this decision came down yesterday afternoon. Yes the ship was done ahead of time, in fact this is our 2nd iteration of it, but if it doesn't pass approval, we can't ship it. Not much more we can do other than redesign it again with the CBS feedback and hope it passes approval quickly.

I understand that, will the nomad be released once it is approved or will we have to wait is my main question..
And they pretend that we are blind and that we wont notice that theyve swapped all the info! Absolutely ridiculous!
Or maybe, and most likely, the person who makes the announcements isn't the same person as who does the website info; and so the person doing the website info (which does need to be accurate) happened to get to it first.
That might sound odd at first, but it's not that strange if you consider that it's probably the website manager (or someone on that team) typing up fixes to the info; but someone on the marketing team (like Rekhan) doing the front-page announcements.
So theoretically, if marketing happened to have something else to do before making said announcement, it's entirely believable that they may be late getting on the ball in comparison to the web team, which pretty much is just handling web stuff. (Marketing is presumably going to be talking to CBS, Atari, the devs, finding out when what goes up where and how they want to present it, etc...)
I'm not guaranteeing that's the case, but it's more logical than assuming a conspiracy to deceive. (After all, "The cover up is worse than the crime" is not an uncommon statement)
It's not to say it's not possible; but I have a hard time thinking Cryptic is that stupid. (And yes, it would be painfully stupid to try to pull a fast one; especially on Star Trek fans who are known to be detail obsessed.)

Stupid CBS
Next time you all go over there to get stuff approved, just use this move on them. Then you don't have to worry about getting approval

The only feedback I would like to give at this stage of the process is ... please take the space worm/space whale/flattened spoon/flattened shovel comments to heart.
I am hoping the Nomad is more Trek looking than the current star cruisers. I think a lot of us are.
Good luck getting it through approval. Here's to not losing hope about the wayward travels of the Nomad on its long journey through the maze of corporate red tape.

-1 (more) for loss of immersion (again).
Question: Who says you are moving forward or at all when launching the escape pods??? hehe
NOTE: Also, becareful ejecting.... the nacelles are what got Goose as well..... (TOP GUN!)

Official enough for ya?

I second this request. Please?
I third this. curios as to actually what the heck they felt was so wrong with it. was it TOO AWESOME?

Dont rush the re-design though make it perrrfect
