there should be a circle on your map that shows where they are. i think the new engineer is in the area where you mod your ships.

There's a quest that involves going to the ship repair place in Sol Station (which is in the ship area).

    Try completing the quest.

    Waitaminute.

Are you SURE you're in Starbase 01?

I don't recall ANY missions that involve any kind of Medical Officer in SB01 - though there IS one in the tutorial...the EMH NPC.

If that's actually where you are - the Chief Engineer is through the hallway in back of you, to the left. It's the ONLY door you can go through in that area.

If not...well I don't know what to tell you. And I just started a new character four days ago....so I woulda remembered any "Medical Officer" mission in SB01.

It's part of a new mission to get you oriented to the new difficulty and death penalty mechanics.

    Okay...
    • Chief Medical Officer is in the Personal Section
    • Chief Engineer is in the Shipyard
    • Assignment Officer is in the Central Hub
That should cover it for starting the 'Needs of the Many' mission...

No. "Needs of the Many" has to do with the commodities brokers and Aid-the-planet missions.

Wandering around SB01 learning about the difficulty settings and death penalty is "A Difficulty Decision".

Oops, I stand corrected... I did both last evening, so its easy to confuse the two... Now what to do with all of this 'Critical' things I've been getting it Fleet action Item drops yesterday evening and this morning... I wonder if there is an Exchange market for these ship healing items...

Check this thread out, I posted images of the locations of the Chief Engineer and Chief Medical Officer previously when testing on Tribble Server.
