If you are going to change things radically like taking VM away even though MOST everyone knew how to beat it (very easy to do), why is it still in our officers list of usable things? Why not change what it is instead of making us use our points and such to re-train them cause you freaking decide it's not a good thing. I don't remember suggesting to add it in the first place.
If you keep TRIBBLE us cryptic then you are going to keep loosing $$ as we go elsewhere to play. My old Star Trek Armada II Disc is still in perfect condition and right now seams like a much better game to play since it doesn't change RADICALLY by a company wanting to make $$ since there software SUCKS because they didn't put enough effort into it.
EXAMPLES: I played FED side and notice you are now using them for Klingon side since you have forgotten to take away the spacial anomalies. Yup it's the EXACT same map as Feds use and has been used MANY times over, and over, and over on Klingon side not to mention hundreds of times on the fed side.
Dang. Come on get with a program and stick to it or just close the DAM doors. In case you didn't notice I'm ****ED.
 I don't care about loosing VM as it was loosing any true value because everyone knew how to beat it but to not at least replace it with something and make us use points to re-train officers is bull!
This SUCKS how you keep TRIBBLE people and it's no wonder new subscribers turn away especially after reading these posts.
Pur a frozen pack of peas on your head and take deep breaths.
Most people found the VM to be a pain in the original format as you could be just chain locked and do nothing for the whole fight. In multi engagements this meant that your single or two at most science teams would not save you and trivialise your presence. This was termed to be very unfun and overpowered for a single ability.
I assume you have never really been on the receiving end of this particular tactic or you would not be here at all. All I will say is the game is not designed to have one trick ponies and its time to adapt. VM is still a good skill but hardly the keyboard busting ability for those who stood there admiring the scenery. Please give yourself time to test those changes before you dismiss them.
After nothing is set in stone for long in MMOs and you may see more changes if the ability has been made too weak.
I hope you are feeling better no (if not a bit chilly).
Personally, I think the change to VM is an improvement. I now have 2 means of countering it instead of 1. It's also preventing me from being chain spammed by it.
Sub Beam and Feedback Pulse were balanced: they both got something back in exchange for losing what most of us agree were very overpowered applications. They are both still good abilities.
Viral Matrix got nerfed. There is no longer any reason to take it. It's atrocious. Stay away.
'Nerd Tears' - the taste you've been waiting for...sweet, crisp, satisfying!
VM as it was sucked, end of story. (And I abused it as much as anyone.)
And even broken as it was (and I too abused it like there was no tomorrow), it was easy to counter even when hit by the old SNB right before or after. I still remember one PvP match where I was called a cheater for coming out of a SNB/VM hold in less than 5 seconds... The only people I see QQing over how much VM has been nerfed are the one-trick wannabe-pwnies and nubcakes.
The new VM is an improvement to game balance and is still a very powerful ability when used properly. I, for one, am not going to remove it in a rash of QQ-rage and will still utilize it in both PvP and PvE.
I think 1.1 is great...and I didn't like how VM worked. The funny thing is that 'VM' like abilities get nerfed in every game I play...hold-like abilities, I mean.
That said: the problem with VM was the ability to chain it with SNB and to bury it with other science abilities so you couldn't remove it with science team. By itself, however, the ability was not OP and the counter made sense.
I don't agree with how they went about nerfing things in this patch: the second order consequences of one change are easy enough to figure out, but all these changes are going to require a third or fourth re-tweak later. It would have been far wiser to tweak the 'big 3' then to massively change them all at once (not to mention the other big changes in this patch). There simply was not enough testing. We will see what happens...

How does one use it properly? I'm getting more use out of Jam Sensors I than I am VM III at the moment in PvE.
I'd be interested in learning what's good about the new version, but from my early experiments, the new one is simply dreadful and not worth bothering over. I'm considering switching to FBP III.

This is where actually testing things on Tribble pays off when they go live. Wanna know how to use VM properly? Go PvP and find out for yourself...

I know stupidity isn't stopped by this forum as God knows everyone didn't bother to READ the first DAM post.
From this new ****ing change I have LOST 20 high ranking high dollar MX [crtd]X2 items I was selling to you SAD saps who were willing to pay MILLIONS for them because of this dam change. No they were NOT in my mail, NO my mail was NOT full, and yes this SUCKS.
I also got stuck in a PVP match with feds (killing feds was just fine by me) but we were ALL unable to get out of the room. We would exit close the game and it would put us right back in there. Eventually we let the feds win and it went on. So it also figures that most of you play as feds wouldn't give a ****.
Now before posting READ the dam first post!
Cryptic you WILL close because your software SUCKS TRIBBLE!.

Well Old star trek games look worse for 500 reasons, now it is just 499 reasons...

It's bad that I can remember that number isn't it
So that would be a plus.
