Eh, I started a new one already anyway. On Tribble in the LT levels I couldn't tell the difference between Normal and Elite as far as actual threat to my survival goes; everything just crumpled slightly less slowly.
I don't have any middle-rank characters to test it on but the difference was very refreshing at Admiral. I hope the difference kicks in sooner rather than later.
Hey, looking through the patch notes I'm seeing a lot of little touches that are nice. Full space autofire, ship looking for a clear spot to warp out, Turn rate being moved from aux to engines with a buff to shields. Awesome.
I didn't see the turn rate increase for the pre-order Connie in the release notes. It didn't make it in this patch or it did and was left out of the notes?
It's always less than that. The figure stated is the amount of data that needs to be patched. The amount needed to download to patch that data is always less.
Patch took me about 5 minutes.
I've just read the 1.1 release notes and I have to say that now that the DP and Difficutly sliders and some of the other changes and additions are going to be in, I honestly think I will actually start playing the game now.
I had started in Feb, leveled a character to Lt Cmd 1 and then a second to Lt 6, but the absence of any kind of meaningful gameplay motivators, I felt everything was just a console-like grind.
Now however, I think I will take my captain out of Cryo-Stasis and give the game a whirl over the weekend on the harder difficulty settings.
* Abort Mission and Beam to Ship buttons are now disabled on all PvP maps in anticipation of a quitting penalty for PvP
um so wait I have joined with my team of 5 for ground mission and no feds join of one joins. That fed leaves, ok and 5 of us sit waiting for more feds to join. After so long and no feds join why can't I leave and why should I have a penalty against me for leaving a completely dead match that I can not fight. do I wait 2 hrs for feds ?

thats not good, we still have bugs in pvp and sometime you have to leave or you are called away from your computer

Added the ability to request to Join New Game in the PvP Queue window. The join button is now a drop-down. When clicked, this displays two options: "Join New Game" or "Join Any Game"

this has got the be the dumbest thing added to the game so far... many matchs ends up with just one or two opponents to our five or six. a few times its just one on the other side. You mean to tell me we have to wait even LONGER to pvp? Its hard enough to get three Feds to queue up, now this? :rolleyes:
If the penalty is like 15 minutes like wow, you think pvp newbs will continue to queue up when they get pwnd by the other faction all the time (cough--feds)
EDIT: What should be fixed is upping the max number of queue, or remove 40% of the empty map queues from the list. From months of light pvp, I never see more then four or five maps with two or three ppl. All dressed up and no where to go

Favourite change personally for me is the all weapon availability on Omega fleet.
