You really can't escape genre fans who want to compare Star Trek and Star Wars and there is a push for a rivalry between the MMOs, in spite of some vast differences in terms of target audience, intended size of the game, budget... and sometimes in spite of the similarities.
Ralph McQuarrie is the father of a lot of the Star Wars design aesthetic, having created the looks for characters like Darth Vader and Chewbacca and much of the technology.
He was also the designer on Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home... and
Star Trek: Planet of the Titans, an aborted attempt at a Star Trek film prior to The Motion Picture. He designed an Enterprise which you can see has a bit more of that Star Wars look that he pioneered. While that design never made it to the screen as a second Enterprise, it did make it to the screen as a cameo in two TNG appearances.
Now, I see no reason for serious enmity between MMO developers but as someone who likes to see a little playful ribbing, I think it would be fabulous to introduce this ship class to Star Trek Online in some appropriately timed manner to coincide with SWTOR's Open Beta or launch... Or possibly offer it as part of the just-announced Veteran Rewards system so that people who have played STO since launch would be getting one... Oh, say just about the same day TOR ships.
Kinda like... "Stick with us and you get the Star Trek answer to one of their ships." For more fun...? As this size/scale is unclear, make this a Federation carrier that will have fans debating whether Trek at last has a rebuttal in the Death Star vs. Enterprise debates. ;-)
Maybe for added fun, a "two story" bridge with consoles buried below and separated by an actual bridge. Not entirely unlike
this but steeped in Treknology and distinct enough to be its own beast. But a definite homage to this style of ship and the carrier mentality.
Maybe a pair of armed "Breen Bounty Hunters" who stand guard next to the Captain's chair, owing to their Star Wars look which appears to be somewhere between Boushh and Boba Fett.

You mean you liked the Enterprise refit design better after they removed the saucer and nacelles and called it the "Star Destroyer", seeing as how it came first. (And is canon although of indeterminate scale.)
That image predates the Star Wars design philosophy was drawn by the guy responsible for the Star Wars design philosophy.
Do you know if there is a picture of this ship ?
It's on the memory alpha page I linked.
The Ralph McQuarrie sketch doesn't look 'Star Trek' and was probably rejected for some very good reasons. Concept sketches are usually rejected because they don't look right, and thisone was obviously one of them.
Having an artist include the design in the background for a couple of frames doesn't give the design validity - it just means he was able to sneak something past the director. These types of 'easter eggs' have been appearing in films for decades without going any further. There's a pair of tennis shoes in the space battle above Endor in "Return of the Jedi," and R2-D2 and C-3PO appear on the wall by the Ark of the Covenant in "Raiders of the Lost Ark"... but I don't think this means Indiana Jones should have a droid now.
Totally agree with this.
i would rather see us get Soong type androids instead of this ship. the game is full of horrid looking ships as it is.
