Ok, this may sound like a fanboi thread, but often times in life people are only addressed when something is done bad or a mistake is made. Rarely is good work recognized nor is it applauded. While there are issues that Cryptic needs to address to make this a better game, there are also things they are doing right or have fixed. This thread is intended to let them know that we appreciate their hard work on our behalf.
My number one? Caitians of course! Who didn't see that coming. Anyway, something that I really like about Cryptic is they are active on their forums. They don't come in to just joke or goof off. They provide us with details of upcoming events and releases. After coming from WoW, it's nice to see a company actually talk with their customers and keep us informed. Keep up the good work keeping us informed on what's on the horizon!
I do find it refreshing to see them actually listening to their player base. It is a risky move and gets them into trouble sometimes, but overall i am pleased with the results.

I also am excited for the difficulty slider.
I like that also but I enjoy it more when the fanbase goes ape s after they get want they want
What I really like about STO is the way I can customize my bridge officers. I love this about the game. With my tactical officer. I could fly a science ship and perform a support role for a mission if I wanted too. Or with a science officer I could fly a escort for DPS. I could just change the skills on my bridge officers or my bridge officers to make it work. Not that I would.
I like the two styles of game play. I know most don't but I really love the ground game. I like commanding my bridge officers. Placing them to fight in bottle necks. Having them attack my target. Then switching to take out another enemy. I have always loved third person shooters. Having one in a MMO with space combat as well. Is my biggest love for the game.

The Engineering reports are great, along with the Calendar they've implemented that gives players an idea of what is coming and when. I know its something thats going to occasionally bite them in the TRIBBLE because they don't make a target date or whatever, but I still think its just outstanding as a player who wants to know what is on the horizon. It's something I'd like to see become a standard in the industry.
They're generally pretty active on the forums, which is great.
I also think their art/graphics team is really outstanding. STO and CO are both very sharp games, especially when it comes to particle effects like phasers, explosions, lighting, weapon animation etc etc
And of course they do a great job with Character/Ship customization.
Like: The Devs. Their heart is in the right place. I think they would (and may yet) make this a great game if they are allowed to. They do good work with what they have been given.
Like least: The community and marketing people. They prove that less is more. As in the less they do and say, the better. Absence (say none of them post for 6 months) would make the heart grow fonder.

This sums it up. Atari's stupid marketing ploys are even going outright against the statement that nothing game-affecting would be sold out-of-game without the ability to earn it in-game. Their whole S&M department needs a big batch of pink slips.

I like the:
1.Listening to US thanks again with the no DP/IS on normal
2. the customization in character creator/ I would still like to chose the sex of my BO, and mix and match com badges with all uniforms!!
It's too bad I didn't notice this thread about 8 hours ago, then I'd probably have had some nice things to say on my mind.

Just think, they could take that money and hire more Devs, which would increase the speed at which the stuff that should have been here at launch gets here. A great game markets itself by word of mouth. A poor game will fail no matter how great marketing is.
I like the customization options in character and ship design, its difficult to implement in the best of circumstances but to do this well with such a strict license as Star Trek is great.
I also like the look and feel, it is very Star Trek to me.
I like how well the devs have been listening and working to make as great a game as they can. I know all game devs for MMO's work to make their games great. but here it shows in your actions and communications.
I like the Engineering Reports, Calendar and their participation in the forums. It's nice to see what changes are on the horizon as well as knowing they read our comments, good or bad.
I like the customization of our ship and crew. I get a lot of enjoyment out of researching and selecting the ship equipment and officer abilities that best fit my style. I really appreciate the abundance of bridge officer skill points and Starfleet merits we receive because they allow us to experiment freely with our officers.
I also think the art team is doing a great job with making this game look and sound like Trek.
the thing i love about Cryptic is the Transparency that they have with what content is coming down the pipeline and they have this strange ability to actually listen to their fans... lol I LOVE IT! now... if only STO could have a MAJIOR graphic overhall at lest in about 6-9 months just because its really gonna be hard to keep up with the graphics of FFXIV, SWTOR, that new EVE game, ect. (even though right now the graphics are.. acceptable and its kinda wierd how they look very similar to APB's graphics lol)

The difficulty sliders already appeased a majority of players (and with the DP gone on Normal, it pleased a supermajority).
