The medusans from TOS actually served on ships and crewed their own ships.

Clearly if Undine were to be made a race they'd dominate PvP. So they sadly can't make one :P

I laughed so hard when I saw Horta. Just trying to imagine how it was going to try to use the Federation Bank without melting it.

Engineer walks out to view another corroded fleet bank interface ... "Dang - it's the Horta again...Get the repair kit..."

Nah, I think Horta would dominate ground encounters as no one could tell where they were

I will admit i went with the Romies on the vote, mainly because i thought that Hortas were part of the Federation.

That being said, i would easily pay 500 CP to play a Horta Captain.

Me thinks they did, and carried it all the way to the wrong memory alpha page.

    You know:

    "One day in Cryptic Studios"

Zinc (Playing STO & Eating a Doughnut) : Hey Phoxe I need you to tell the forum we need to take a poll. I need to know what the players want for the next "Playable Race".

Phoxe (Grabs notepad) : OK which races?

Zinc : I want the Borg, Romulans, Dominion, Cardassians & (takes a bite of a powdered doughnut) & vHorta.

Phoxe (writes down Horta and googles Horta)

This is why Powdered doughnuts will no longer be ALLOWED at Cryptic (cuz I said so)

    ;)

aren't the Cardassians, Vorta and Jem'hadar not all in one "clan" now according to the storyline created for STO?

    So;
    Science; Vorta
    Tactical; Cardassian/Jem'hadar(different inherit traits)
    engineer; Cardassian/Jem'hadar(different inherit traits)

    Representing one empire?

Then the Borg and Romulans can be put on that list, so three choices then.

Well, its odd, since you have quite a few factions in there.

You have the Dominion, who is in the Gamma Quadrant.

The Dominion separatists, who are still in the Alpha Quadrant and allied with the True Way.

Cardassian Detapa Council (the ones who are running Cardassian space, have a protection agreement with the Federation and are not allowed to keep a standing military, just a defense force ala Japan)

True Way Cardassians, terrorists who view the Fed-allied Cardie government as a travesty to cardie ideals. Also allied with Dominion Seperatists.

Sir, transporting harmful animals from one planet to another is against regulations, or weren't you aware of that? Besides, tribbles have no teeth. :D

wow, Cryptic can do a ton of cool things with that storyline. So Cardies are a shattered people now, get a good story writer and u can fill season 3 and 4 with cool stories how Cardies reclaim their "own self" again, including fights against Feds, Dominion and of course a civil war(nice of there were factions within one faction fighting for the final outcome of that faction, so one Cardasia with Feds, one Cardasia with Dominion, and the war and intrige rages onwards ^^

Getting the Breen to hook up with the Dominion in a attempt to besiege Eerth would be very cool, u could have a massive Fed/KDF player fleet needing to stop 1.000 attacking ships at saturday 13:00 o'clock for all players to attend. That would be a one-time cool STF :D
