http://www.imagebanana.com/img/ywk0bqk9/screenshot_20100429003636.jpg ...that is not the name of my ship!
"Captain! I can not read this nonsense, it's all backwards!"

This is what happens if you let Wesley Crusher play with the Bridge Monitors and a bunch of Nanites:

Come on Cryptic, if i have to pay money for this stuff at least dont give me reversed and scrambled Textures!
Otherwise i like the subtile diffrences in the geometry of the single Bridges and that it is not only diffrent texture 4 times.
Comments
and the incorrect plaque? if you're going to have plaques, at least have them show our ship name on them, otherwise get rid of it.
that was what i was shooting for
...i will supply Screenshots of it after the Patch then
Sorry, there is no Wesley in my Database.... *goes slowly backwards while whistling*
For a moment, I thought I was looking at Second Life...
I keeed... I kid...
Quoted for importance. Gotta fix this. I don't command the USS Cryptic.
Doesn't every good captain jump on their chair to sit down, only to do it again to get a better position?
Sitting Tech is listed in the engineering reports. No ETA but it is on the To Do List.
More interriors are coming, Bridge functionality is coming.... sux to wait for it but whatever.
...for now, yes if it says USS Cryptic, that's wrooooong
Ok, you just confused me. You seemingly dismiss the things I mentioned because their fix is comming, but a fix is comming on the issue you mention too, so I guess thats also dismissed. Then you say "for NOW' this issue is breaking your immersion, but for NOW all those other issues still exist too
If they need new Tech to let me sit down... (needs animations, needs buttons) that is a reasonable excuse.
Textures that are inverted or just scrambled... no excuse for that... and especially not for PAYED items = enough reason to b**h about it for me.
You want to whine about stuff that is allready on the to do list? make your own thread please.
kthxbye
Riiight. You might want to add a "you can only post in my thread if you agree with me" clause to your OP if thats the way you feel
Another issue i've found with that particular bridge and a few other ones (also since beta) is that they don't display the right ship on the ship status panels. i currently have a prometheus displaying olympic status panels on it's bridge.
Wait, is that the final patch or something on Tribble?
Yeah I just noticed that when I got my Envoy, and a Galaxy was on the displays. I wanted to tell the boff at that station that if he didn't know what class our ship was - he was fired, but I decided my Envoy looked like a dissected frog from the top down, and changed to Galaxy anyway.
you are free to write whatever you want, i just see no reason for you to take over my thread with issues that are known since forever and are on the official to do list (as i told you the first time), i mean what else do you want? for them to fix it yesterday?
//for the *wrong* Ships on the Displays.... you guys know that those displays not necesserily display your ships?
On my Bridge right now i see screens of a Galaxy Class AND a Science Vessel ...so ...uhm?
It's going to be one of the hardest things to program, as each cross-section is going to need display every possible combination. If each tier has 3 types, then you'll need a texture for each nacelle, strut, hull, saucer, etc. Unless they can find some seamless way to combo it. Maybe just generate an image by taking a side image of your ship, converting it to an outline, and draw some lines through it to represent decks.
Either way, some weird TRIBBLE bugs in there. Never noticed the plaque before...
TBH the display thing doesn't really bother me, I mean you notice it, but there's no functionality so its really no biggie.
For some reason the plaque thing bothers me more, I think cuz I get such a kick seeing the name I chose actually on my hull.
but why would i ALWAYS display those other ships? does my bridge crew have some sort of fetish for them?
Plaques mean something to you just as ship status displays mean something to me, both equally need fixing.
I would like to point out that I too paid for things. It was called the game in-a-box and my subscription. Shouldn't we recieve any consideration? I would think at least as much as the C-Store items.
It's not too immersion-breaking. My suggesting was the easiest thing I could think of in case it matters to people; I don't care too much if it can't be done, as my opinion is only mine and not reflected on everyone's--but when giving suggestions out, I like to include what other people would like to see, not just me.
If it takes time to get right, it'll take time to get right.
Plaques moreso than anything. If your registration number and name can appear on your ship in quite fine detail, then this can be done just as easily. It is immersion-breaking, because it also breaks the fact that this isn't really your bridge.
I disagree, i have to walk up to the plaque to be able to read it, the ship displays tend to be much more visible, i can see the error no matter where i am on the bridge.
You will receive consideration; you may not get a functional interior at this moment, but when it becomes available (if bridge theme matches the interior (yes, that's what she said )), then you've got a headstart on it.
What we paid for the game in-a-box was to repay their development time. What we pay now is to keep the servers up and for them to develop new content. As long as we keep pushing them in the right directions with good, honest, and intelligent feedback, they'll deliver. So far, they've been very keen, moreso than other developers, to listen to us.
At the same time, I agree, it does suck to see shoddy work. To point it out is also to draw attention that this needs fixing. There's a fine line, though, between whining endlessly about little things and pointing them out--how diplomatically we respond helps steer the individual question away from whining (though not everyone can be helped).
You may disagree--I have no intent to dispute or refute your opinion; rather, I am supporting an overall decision to get it fixed, even if it doesn't affect me in the slightest.
I weep every time I beam up to my Bridge.
You actually go there?
OMG...
That is pretty Cryptastic.
Yes the group I play with actually tries to RP...it is hard given the surroundings.
