I got myself a Pakled Bridge Officer and when I saw him I thought he was too brawny than the Pakleds we saw on TNG and DS9. So at the character creator / modifier, I tweeked it to appear more rotund. But instead of having a plump Pakled, I ended up with a brawny Pakled with one hell of a beer belly.
So Cryptic, could tweek the stomach slider to be more propotional with the rest of the body, that way we don't have guys with beer bellies running around or someone trying to pull off a pregnant female captain?
In open beta, there was a slider that let you contort the physique of the individual, too either bulk them up properly or make them lean and muscular. It apparently got scrapped fairly fast, but it's a feature we definitely need.
The way I figure it, beings with huge guts wouldn't be able to pass the physical aspect of starfleet training, which is why you don't see many rotund starfleet officers. Having said that, some species seem to be inherently big, such as Pakled, And I agree this is one slider option that should be fixed.
It is reasonable to assume that different species have different builds. Some species may look rotund, or even obese, and yet may be an extremely healthy example of their species.

At first sight, many insects look fragile to the human eye, but ants for example are extremly strong and can carry their own weight multiple times. With legs that look no thicker than a hair.

Scalar atmosphere definitely helps. At the size of an ant, air pressure at sea level is like being 1,000 ft. under water--hell, most small insects fly by swimming. Or at least, their wings move a lot like flippers. Because it scales down that way, utility comes in the way of brute strength. Of course, insect size is entirely dependent on oxygen content and air pressure--if you raise the air pressure and O2 content, insects grow bigger without changing the physical mechanics that govern them.
That being said, Starfleet physicals are probably EXTREMELY lenient towards the species, and not very human-centric.
Nevertheless, current system in place to make more rotund (or, for the sake of dropping political correctness altogether, fat) characters is poor, to say the least. It's why I wish the slider was back in place to shift from muscular to lean to fat in a way that isn't just a beer gut.
Like said above, we never saw a "fit" Pakled, only large ones. And of course the KDF obviously has no weight standards, because we seen plenty of plump Klingon warriors.
I was really hoping that with the Pakled we would get the slider back, even if only for that species - I mean it is part of the cannon, they are big. My Pakled doesn't look BIG, he just looks like he has a gut. Hopefully the feedback they get will inspire Cryptic to figure a way to incorporate "rotund" body types.
