Now that the game has been out for a couple of months, how bout putting the pre-order bonus items in the Cryptic store, so that they can be made available to one and all. Speaking for myself, I would love to have the Borg BO, or the TOS Constitution Class Starship. Regrettably, my wife picked the game up for me at Bestbuy, and I got a Tribble, yep a Tribble. I do want the other items, especially the TOS Connie, but I am not going to go buy a second copy of this game to get them. That is a complete waste of money. I'm willing to bet most of us feel that way. So Cryptic, do us and yourselves a favor. Make them all available in the Cryptic store. You the company make some more bank, and we the customer get what we want. We all win that way.
Sure, the existing pre-order bonuses can go in the C-Store... as long as the original pre-order folks get some new exclusive stuff to make up the loss of exclusivity on the old items.

I can see where you're coming from, but I disagree with you. Most of the pre-order bonus items become obsolete anyways (I don't use my chromodynamic armor or automated defense turret anymore, although I didn't realize this before I bought the game, since I didn't know their exact stats or STO's gameplay mechanics), and I do wish I could get access to some of the other pre-order stuff (like the Borg BO:D)... I wouldn't mind paying a few dollars for things like this, but paying $50 is an absurd price for anyone but collectors. I know I certainly wouldn't mind if other people got access to mine - they have to pay additional money to get them, whereas I got mine for free, technically, so I don't see how it's a bad thing to let people pay a reasonable premium to get access to the others.

I believe it will happen, but I doubt it will happen in less than 6 months.

Maybe missing something here, but what exclusive stuff are you referring to. I bought the game less than 1 week after it came out. I did not pre-order , but I got the Best Buy Tribble. Maybe I miss spoke here, but as far as I can tell, if I went to Gamestop today, I could still pick up a copy from them, input the retail code and get the TOS constitution ship. I just want those various items to be made available. I don't want to take away from anybodys sense of entitlement. I'm willing to buy these from the Cryptic store. But to get all the goodies, I don't feel that I should be made to buy 7 different copies of the game.

yeah, what he said, except for the TOS uniforms which should've been available with all preoreder versions, except a select few.
Personally I feel anything that was "exclusive", looses that sense of "cool, I got one" when put out for the general masses at any point in the future. Would I like the Borg BO? Sure I would...but I bought from Gamestop and have the Con Class ship. If I wanted the Borg BO then I would go buy from that vendor. No offense to any of you who want the items...I totally understand your desire, but I would be extremely ****ed off if all of a sudden my Constitution Class ship ended up on the Cstore...even as a ship skin. Exclusive should remain just that..."Exclusive" Not "for a limited time you get it before others do."
I have no illusions about whether they may eventually but every store I've gone to still has copies of the game on the shelf with the bonuses tied in. I would imagine the goal would be to sell through these before selling the items separately.

They can't.
The location of sale (store) determines which keygen that Cryptic uses.. that keygen produces a retail key that ties in the Bonus for the store location.
They aren't going to run out because they keep printing the game with the bonus tied into the keys.
So.. If someone wants the TOS Connie, buy a regular edition of the game from gamestop.. if they are a monthly subscriber.. they are paying $25 for 30 days game time and the TOS Connie.
If someone wants the Borg BO.. order the Regular edition from the Amazon Store (not affiliate) for $25.. They get 30 days and the Borg BO.
so people have choices.. the point of the matter is that they don't want to spend the extra $10 for the bonus item and a backup copy of the game disk.
Heck, Gamestop, in addition to the TOS connie on the regular Edition, people can also get 400 C-Points for a limited time (C-Points not available on DL version of Regular Edition game).
I bought the Amazon CE like a month ago.. got it $20 off with the Borg BO (make sure to buy from the Amazon Store, not an affiliate).
I got the Digital Deluxe Edition from Gamestop (wanted the TOS Uniforms and TOS Connie allin 1 purchase) (This was my Pre-Order package) ..
There was nothing Pre-Order about the packages except the Head Start access, which will never happen again.
Theoretically, the run with the unlock keys attached will end if it hasn't already. I'm saying that items in the C-Store will have to wait until that to please retailers.

Cryptic has already made statements that if a game purchase did not come with the retailer's bonus item, to submit a ticket and they will put it on the account.
They have no plans of ending the retailer's exclusive items any time soon.
We have the bonuses tied to the keys given to the retailers themselves. So *theoretically* no matter when you buy the game from a retailer you will get the bonus item.
I would say that if you buy the game from amazon and DON'T get the borg BO that you should submit a ticket so we can get it sorted.
As I stated.. they don't plan on ending it any time soon.

No, we don't all win that way. The purpose of the perks was for those who Pre Ordered or paid the extra money. For those of us idiots who bought the Collector's edition (which was a complete rip off almost as bad as the game) and paid 80 dollars for a wack book, insignia, and box that serves no purpose, our exclusive 'items' are all we have left. And most aren't even exclusive.
I wasn't happy to find that I purchased the CE for the Const class but also for the tribble only to find that they drop like mad all over the game.
So no, you shouldn't be able to get those items and such that were supposed to be exclusively for those who purchased their version based on the perks that weren't really perks at all since most items are worthless now. They should have given us things whether cosmetic or not that scale with our toons.

If I were paying month-to-month I would buy a copy from Amazon. In fact, I would have done it 2 or 3 weeks ago. However, I have an LTS so they only thing I would get for my $25 is the Borg BO. I want the Borg BO, but not bad enough to spend $25, although the desire to have the Borg BO is still gnawing at me so who knows how things will pan out.

well, to be fair, the tribble with the Best Buy purchase is a rare tribble that can't be bred in game, however you can use it to breed out other tribbles.
I mean your Tribble is the only one in game that gives 1% DPS, 1% damage Resist and 1% health regen bonuses all at the same time.. no other tribble in game can do that.
I still use the Red Matter Capacitor at RA 5 out of my CE and the Uniform selections are nice.
I have the box, art book/manual, and com badge myself.. I couldn't see buying them for $80.. but with the Amazon deal of $20 off the price and the Borg BO attached, I went ahead and bought it.. plus it also gives me a physical copy of the game since my Pre-Order package was Digital Download.. this will make re-installs easier in event of corruption or system failure.
so It is all in the eye of the beholder and what the items / pixels mean to you.
Last week while at Target I picked up a regular off the shelf copy just to get the Carbine. Went over to Best Buy and poof there is the Tribble and Targ pet. I actually like the model of having a special bonus item depending on where you buy it from.
I'll bet $100.00 right now that the next movie is going to have some sort of In-Game Item for anyone that goes to opening weekend.
Word to the wise, help your local economy by buying these special items from local retailers instead of EBay. A buddy of mine bought the "carbine code" off EBay for $30.00. They told him that he had to go to Target to purchase the retail box to activate it. Yes, I did laugh when I saw the box included it. That's why I bought it. Getting a month credit out of it was just an extra bonus.
Color me "old school," but I think the pre-order and special edition perks should remain right where they're at. They are rewards for the ambitious people who saw something they wanted and went for it. They are prizes for those people, and should not be given to the general game populous. I've got my ToS Connie and special uniforms. It'd be cool to have the armor tribble, but I've got what I've got. I'm okay with that, and I really don't think they should be available for everyone. It's no longer "special" when everyone has it.
Sure, the existing pre-order bonuses can go in the C-Store... as long as the original pre-order folks get some new exclusive stuff to make up the loss of exclusivity on the old items.
Or those of us who bought both editions in order to get all the items get some of our money back.
But I'd be fine with them swapping out the uniforms, which really should have been made available to all in the first place, with something else like ships or ship skins, etc.
I really doubt something as useful as the Borg Bridge Officer will be put on the C-Store anytime soon. That was an exclusive pre-order item with Amazon.com. Its not outfits or useless armor that just look cool. Things like the Connie and the Borg Bridge Officer which were pre-order collectors edition exclusives. Would make people very upset if their item was not unique anymore. Even 6 months after release. A year or two it probably will be ok. Dont know. Its just too soon for the useful items to be put on the C-Store.

In the pre-order bonus FAQ Cryptic said they reserved the right to add bonus items to their C-Store at some point. In every case like this that I have ever seen from other MMOs that period of time is generally substantial to give the people who originally showed good-faith and bought the items time to enjoy them. I seriously doubt you'll see any bonus items in the C-Store before 1 year.
Guess it's time to say the same thing I always say in these threads:
I paid so I could have those items, not so you couldn't. Add 'em to the C-Store all you like, Cryptic. The only things I don't want to see in the C-Store are those things I earned somehow, not the stuff I just paid for. I don't care if other people pay for it, as long as they don't pay less than I did. And the pre-order bonuses didn't add to the price of the item they came with, so if they cost even 1 Cryptic Point that's more than I paid.
So wait ... let me get this straight ... if I purchase the game from Gamestop right now ... the code it comes with will give me the classic Constitution Class ship?
If this be the case, Cryptic (and Gamestop) might be getting a new sale this week.

This game there is no such thing as PREORDER items as yellow names stated before that it's attached to the retail keys. You can still buy a copy from Best Buy, Amazon, etc and get the items. And if you don't get it, the yellow names said contact Cryptic's Billing Support and they will fix it for you.
I was about to buy the Amazon CE last week but asked Billing Support if what they said was true so if I bought from Amazon would I be sure to get it no matter what. And Billing did confirm that to be true but I'd have to supply proof of purchase. Luckily my box unlocked it so I didn't have to get it fixed with Billing.

And just answered this in my post to the OP. I see you will be off to Gamestop. But if it doesn't then save your receipt and contact Cryptic's Billing support and they will fix it for you.

Thanks so much for that answer. And yes, I shall save said receipt. Wow ... I've been wanting to fly around in that ship for awhile now and thought I missed out on it completely because I got the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Last week, for 35 dollars, I got the Borg BO from Amazon and the CE items too. Plus a disk just in case because I got the DDE too at first. The CE was selling for 50 but I had 15 dollars Amazon gift card so it was 35 out of pocket.
Sure, the existing pre-order bonuses can go in the C-Store... as long as the original pre-order folks get some new exclusive stuff to make up the loss of exclusivity on the old items.

to me an exclusive item should be something that will actually enhance your char stats or a skill or special equipment like a weapon or even the "red matter" generator i got with the Gamestop edition i bought.
I do not believe ships or uniforms should be an "Exclusive" item at all. the reason is that every trek fan buys the game expecting to be able to have those particular items. I Bought mine not realizing that not everyone would get the starship i got. i thought it was just an ad on the box to make me want to buy it.
Every trek fan wants to fly the ship they loved from which ever series they loved and they want to be able to wear those uniforms also. to be denied that because they didn't buy x edition or didnt discover the game existed until after a certain date or the fact that they had no interest in one of the companies other game titles so they didnt buy a life time subscription to it.
Again i think this is one of stupidest things i have seen cryptic do.
