BO inactivity during ground missions

I'm having an issue with a Klingon tactical BO.
He is commander with leg sweep 1/2, lunge and motion accelerator.
I have tried both melee and ranged weapons.
He seems to just hunker down and watch the fight.
Maybe 1 or 2 times he'll activate MA, but for the most part he's a spectator.
Am I doing something wrong?

maybe you need to reset the commands. because one of those commands i believe the 1st one puts them out of combat.

i use the 3rd one which is combat and help others

Yeah, I've tried clearing that, he's set just like the rest of the away teram, he's just lazy...
I was hoping for a melee wild eyed klingon warrior, but at this point i'd settle for just him firing his weapon more than once a fight (and for god sakes, stand up, stop cowering behind the rest of the team, hunkered to the ground).

Do you tell him to attack or just hope he attacks when you do? I generally always assign who my melee Tac Officer hits.

So I should assign him a specific target everytime?
Yeah, I was just relying on him to act like everyone else on the away team. They tend to pick their own targets, but they are all very active. He just scrunches down and watches.

That seems to be the only way to make sure they attack regularly. Prior to figuring this out, mine would only occasionally attack. So yes, assign them a target and tell them to attack.
