I liked it, though I think Pcola Pat needs to invite some friends over for extra voices. :)

Okay the editing was good...the voice acting was ummm horrible, but it shows what can be done with STO fan movies.

As far as I am concerned, the voice acting was better than that of Zachary Quinto in the Tutorial.

Nice editing job as well as the extra effects and music.

    Cheers!

I thought this was maybe a remake of 'Friday's Child' (TOS S02E11). It is very similar!

QFT. His McCoy sounds just like Karl Urban! Audio mixing could have been a lot better. The levels of the music and sound effects made some lines of dialogue difficult to understand.

THIS is what i would expect the Episode Missions to be like.

Intro / Outro, Ingame Cinematics, Voiceovers. STORY.

ok for some reason the voice of the guy on the viewscreen at the beginning (Antus I think) reminded me of Sean Connery lol
But yeah good vid, missions should be more like this, maybe also something to add into things is a method to record the missions as your doing it and then upload to a STO youtube account automaticlly when your done with the mission so others can watch (Spore has something like that I think, just remembered it).

To be fair a lot of the episodes actually do have a story to them, it's just that it get's into the combat a bit fast. But missions like Soong making Gorn augments was a great story arc.

I'm impressed. How did you manage to get Sean Connory to voice over the view screen?

Personally I think the story is fine, but I think the story missions could use special effects and voice overs for further immersion.

I liked it. I thought it was very clever and creative. Certainly the story is much better than some of the TRIBBLE we get in STO. However I don't entirely undertand why Mr.Scott seems to be bi-polar at the end there.

Presumably, Kirk and the away team must negotiate for dilithium and so must the Klingons, but what was up with that random, "Lets kill them first for no reason" decision of Scotty's? Was that an homage to the games general stance towards anyone else being involved with the mission, "Look there is those other people, we need to blow them up"

Yes but they are delivered poorly.
    I want quality entertainment.

Actually, i believe one Episode Mission every 2 weeks in this style would keep a lot of TREK Folks happy (= paying for their subscriptions).

Cryptic has proven that they can make intresting story arcs. Now all they need to do is to tell them in an intresting way.

Text Boxes are boring.... and it is 2010, we have HDTV's and 5.1 Systems.
If i want to READ a story i take a BOOK. There are enough Star Trek Books, i did read a lot of them.
In a Videogame (no matter if it is an MMO or Mass Effect) i expect to see some standard's of Technology that is used today, Text Adventures were 1980.

I feel nothing but hate for the Text Popups.

I agree with what you say about the vid being clever and creative.

As for the other stuff, I mentined earlier the vid seems to be based on 'Friday's Child' from TOS (S02E11) - watch it and see the similarity!

I showed the vid to some of my fleet mates who don't visit the forums. Well done.

Even without voice acting (which can get expensive) I hope others are noting that this is what missions could be like.

Huge points for the effort. Give the guy a break for the voices though gee.

One thing that this and the non voice episode really showed me was the impact that a good soundtrack can have. I got chills hearing the old music track in ust the right places for the most part.

I think his Chekov is very strong and McCoy is decent.

He has a southern accent that creeps through. It's less noticeable with Chekov and McCoy (who has one). Interesting factoid, one of the KGB's favorite covers for its infiltrators in the states was to have them pose as Texans. The accent masks the phonemes that Russians have difficulty pronouncing in English.

I'd suggest, as an acting exercise, maybe recording with someone else standing in for the person you're talking to. It will force more emotiveness out of you.

For whatever reason, Chekov sounds the most "alive" for me of any of those and I'd be curious what's producing the difference.
