What is an STF?
Special Task Force. This is the series of new missions being released for characters that have capped off at rear admiral 5 (RA5 for short). There are currently 3 that must be done in order to unlock the next in the series.
1. Infected
this has 3 maps STOP THE FLOW-- space battle FACT OR FICTION and DEEPER INTO THE MYSTERY the last 2 on the starbase.

2. The Cure
this has 3 maps

3. Khitomer Accords
this has 3 maps as well

4. Undine Terrordome (to be released)

Do i have to join a team or can i use my bridge officers?
These missions are strictly team missions. You need a team of at least 4 but preferably 5 people to do. You are not allowed to use bridge officers on the ground portions and there is no way to accomplish the space battles going it solo.

Why cant i get the mission?
These missions are strictly RA5 only and you must have completed all the previous borg missions (like State of Q). And as stated you must have do each in order completely at least once to access the next one on the list.

How do i join a team?
Once you have on of the missions in your list, just travel to the designated system and park your ship with the mission screen active. Then post on chat your side (fed or klingon) and your character class (tac eng or sci) and the mission you need to join in on. It helps to add LFG (looking for group) at start. No sit back and wait for somebody to invite you to their team.

How do i make my own team?
Right click on a persons name in the chat screen or their ship on the main screen and select invite to team.

What do i do for (mission name)?
Look up borg strategy on the forums. There are several well done strategies posted on the forums for these missions.

Is there any specific equipment i need?
1. Bat'leth found on DS9 from the stand with the orion dancing girl in background or on exchange
2. Tribble can be purchased on exchange

What ship is best?
Cruisers are best for these as you need a balance between firepower and toughness. Assault cruisers are my personal recommendation as they can equip cannons. Escorts tend not to last long under concentrated fire and Science vessels don't have near enough firepower.
Note: i was in a group with 2 science vessels and we couldn't make a dent in the tactical cube we were fighting. DONT USE SCIENCE VESSELS!!!

What is vent and why do some groups require it?
Vent is short for ventrillo. It once of many voice chat programs (look it up on the forums or google) that many experienced players and fleets use. It is not necessary to play the STF's but is highly reccomended by several players as you can receive directions on the fly instead of having to back out of battle to type on the chat board.

I have seen players with anti-proton or tricobalt weapons where can i get them?
These are found in Battle Group Omega.

What is Battle Group Omega and where is it?
Battle Group Omega is the joint Fed/Klingon task force on the other side of the Huge transwarp Gate in the Sirius Sector. Simply use the gate to go to the Omicron sector and select the battle group. Travel to the different ships in the group to access certain key areas like the exchange or your bank.
Note: There are 2 specific things to look for The Valor Exchange and the USS Montgomery both are used to spend your reward from the stf's and the daily explore mission (Btran Nebula). This is were you can by the anti-proton and tricobalt weapons that do specific bonus damage against Borg.

The best way to do the missions is to do the daily explore mission and save up exploration marks to complete your set of ship weapons and ground gear before trying the stf's.

You might want to clarify something here...Marks of Exploration can be traded for the Anti-proton and Tri-cobalt weapons, however Marks of Valor can be traded for these same items but they have special "vs Borg" [Borg] attributes

:) This information helps, I was wondering why I couldn't find the STF's and figured you might have to reach the rank of Admiral. Thanks.

I don't think the fist part of KA can be completed without at least one escort... and that mission actually has 5 maps three space, vega colony, and the borg facility.

Cruisers are not the best for these missions, in fact I have done all but KA with four escorts and a star cruiser... and I think KA would best be done with three escorts, a sci, and a eng/cruiser.

The bat'leth can be useful, but you don't want to get away from your healer, or your eng's bunkers (if you have one).

KA has several instances of DPS racing, the gates on the first map and the shield generators later on, if you don't have a group that can do tons of DPS don't attempt it unless you want to experience the frustration of repetitive failure.
