Okay it's just a small thing but if I have an engine battery equipped and a shield battery equped, both at 2, when I pick up an engine/shield battery can it skip my inventory and get slotted right away? Again a small thing I know but it would be really nice.
And while we're at it how about some more devices? Maybe some just for fun? I've always wanted to have a device that makes my ship shoot fireworks or something, haha.
Sensible request (it must be, I've quite often wondered why it's not automatic myself). There's no real reason why you wouldn't add to an existing slotted battery, is there?
or you could take a page from ds9's handbook of neat tricks and make self replicating mines as a device.
or for even wilder fun disposable weapon beam turrets, use the device and one of the turrets gets kicked out of the rear with a limited duration power supply say 5 minutes.
As for how they could be acquired they could only be accquired from major starbases ds9, esd, k7, sb39.
General white versions would be available in stacks of 5 for a set amount of energy credits.
Green would be available for energy credits and a small number of merits.
Blue rare versions would be available in reduced stacks of 3 for about 5 is daily mission marks.
Purple or very rare version would be available in stacks of 2 for about 7 daily mission marks.
Damage the deployable's would deal would be slightly less than that dealt by a person fully specced in that particular weapons skill firing from 100 weapon power.

I can see a vessel using it to maneuver out of a inpending entry into their opponent's toprpedo firing arc
