Raidisodes need help

Please forgive what is to follow. I know it is a giant run on sentence that is lacking proper grammer but 'Infected' has driven me to it.

Dear Cryptic

I've finally got my science officer to RA5 and have had the displeasure of attempting 'Infected" a half dozen times and I got one thing to say:

TAKING THE SAME 3 MOBS THAT ROOT/FREEZE CONSTANTLY,

AND THAT CALL REINFORCEMENTS THAT AUTO FLANK EVEN THE FARTHEST BACK 'HEALER'

AND TAKE WHAT IS ESSENTIALLY 10 SEPARATE GROUPS

AND TAKING ALL OF THE POOR GAME MECHANICS ABOVE AND STRETCHING IT OUT OVER 3 PLUS HOURS

DOES NOT MAKE IT SUBSTANCE!!

Everytime I play that Raidisode I really begin to wonder if any of the people who designed that pile of ofal has ever had any experience creating End Game content.

Sure it takes an experienced group to finish it. Sure it takes coordination to finish it. Sure it takes patience to constanly run back to the mob that you almost killed off only to find it fully restored. But, what you've created is the product of a game that lacks Captains Only Group content till the Level Cap.

Since I am forced to complete 'Infected' to play "Cure" or "KA" I will have to swallow back the bile rising in the back of my throat to throw away another day to find a group capable of finishing it.

I sure hope that mess isn't representative of the kind of content that I can look forward to as this game continues to evolve.

Dunno about you, it's significantly easier than it once was.... I can literally breeze through it when Cryptic removed a lot of the original borgs.(The story is starbase 82 has 200 personnels... )

You now want to nerf more borgs? It's a STF, not a normal mission, where you win just by pressing spacebar. Try flanking , running around, retreat, use power cells, hit only one node at a time, aggro management etc . Or class specific skills, like geo skills, healer/medic , or expose expert for science officer. Go read some of the strategies posted.

If you pug a good group, you can finish the whole STF in 1 hour for infected, 2 hours for cure and also around 2 hours for khitomer.

infected isnt as bad as it used to be i repeated it for the second time a few nights ago, but i do agree with the borg mob in general they have too many tools , i wouldnt mind it if they become imune to a certain damage type causing you to switch weapons.

but some of their abilities are a bit ott.

The root freeze spam can be avoided by keeping the med drones either knocked down or away from you.

To be honest? Infected is the poorest of the Raidisodes in many ways, but then it is the first. It kind of sets you up witht he tools to finish the rest of them.

Admittedly the Root/Held combinations are frustrating but so long as you pack Hyposprays you're laughing, literally . This said I think there is room for improvement on the STF's, it's not that I find they're too difficult, I actually really enjoy them with my regular group (Shout out to Tzik, Talla, Uray and Eurasia there.) and we all have good fun.

What needs fixing? Well the bugs for a start - but that'll get squashed soon enough I'm sure. What's frustrating is little "Lose" buttons such as respawning and going to the wrong respawn point and having to fight your way back - getting swamped by so many borg you just have to die as you can't get to the control nodes. It's not that it's too hard, just wants a bit of a rethink perhaps.

Undine Terradome seems to be looking at this in a different way, rumour has it that htere's a new lead developer on this one so it could be interesting to see what comes out, apparently it's more stealth based than action so I'm quite excited to see it.

Keep up the good work Cryptic, the STF's are great - sure they're not for everyone, but they're definitely for me!

One massive suggestion for improvement here guys? Put some similar content into the lower levels - maybe a "Captain's MIssion" for each rank level to prepare people for the need to team with captain's, make them STF's but not quite as challenging, help us build the skills we'll need for Endgame as the game progresses - I'd love to see this in the future.
