Nerfing is stupid.

Nerfing is completely stupid. Nerfing one faction over another is just obsured and killing this game entirely. It's nerfing that has caused the lack of players entering pvp on the klingon side. And caused so many to cancel their subscriptions entirely besides the other lack of content to an incomplete faction ( Klingon ).Just adds to the list; but nerfing is number one on the list of so many that have lost the enthusiasm to continue to play this game. Nerfing ruined the potential for STO besides many other problems. I realize that Cryptic is currently fixing bugs and many other problems but; truth is not all players customize their action tabs exactly as your counterpart. It has nothing to do weapon strengths/damage incurred by such weapons. Its how that player implements that weapon and the skill abilities from his BO's and the consoles available to him/her. BOP's are the only ships on the Klingon side that has Univeral consoles. The rest are designated ranked only consoles on light cruisers , heavy cruisers, carriers. and Carriers are the only klingon ship without cloak making it a big target so its nerfed already.
So nerfing one faction over another all because of some select members of such faction whine so much about being killed just because of weapons fire because they couldnt or didnt have a debuff set up for that weapon is completely utterly obsured. Its not the fault of the attacker that the defender doesnt have the debuff his/her against the weapons that the attacker has. Its the defenders fault for lack of training their BO's skills to be used on the action tabs to defend against such weapons.
Nerfing one faction over another is just wasting resources and time for Cryptic developers in developing more content and to further the interest of players to keep the enthusiasm to keep playing the game. STO has potential to last a long time if the little children mentality of whining about one factions weapons killed me begging developers to nerf them because they lost a pvp battle or got killed because they didnt have a debuff to defend against that weapon and whining like a 2 year old saying their so OP is just so stupid and rediculous. Just completely holding this game up and ruining the potential of the game. Those that whine and complain like little children should just grow up be mature and play the game. If you cant grow up and still feel the need to be a 2 year old and throw a temper tanterum leave the game and play games suited for your child like mentality. I am sure there are kindergarten games that will suffice your child like mentality out there in the gaming world. Let the mature players play the game as it suppose to be without nerfing any factions what so ever. And let Developers work on more important issues to keep the game on going as it should be.

So you're saying it's actually better to let one group have a significant advantage over everyone else???

I understand the OP's anger. His specifics on 'maturity" are strange, but anger often unbalances internet posts.

Demanding nerfing is like politics. People lie by misrepresenting the truth, and demand action be taken to 'fix' the supposed 'broken machanic'. Not everyone is lying to improve their personal experience, but most probably are.
I seems the devs are scrambling to throw whatever bones they have to the largest player base left playing. It is logical behavior for a for-profit employee who is sinking underwater slowly.

Personally, I adapt and continue to play for now. Some nerfs affect me more than others, because I have a prefered playstyle. The day I can't have fun playing my way, Civilization IV still works fine, Civ 5 is coming out this fall.

basicly nerfing never helps in the end. you nerf this and then you have to nerf that, and then another thing. going to end up with throwing rocks at each other. its not just space getting nerfed to death, ground pve is slowly under the radar going to hell.

    The five stages of nerfs:
    1. Denial: The new changes won't nerf me. Other people will be affected.

    2. Anger: How dare they nerf me! This is obviously a personal attack against me and my ethnicity! WTF U R TEH SUX I QUIT!!!!!!!!1111oneeleven

    3. Bargaining: Okay, if you also nerf X, Y, or Z from these other classes, I'll consider continuing to play. Maybe if other people get nerfed too, it won't be so bad.

    4. Depression: Just read the patch notes. They've got it in for me and my class. This game isn't worth playing any more. I'm quitting and going to /wrists. This game will fail. All they care about is money.(Note how caring about making a profit, and the game failing, somehow always go together...)

    5. Acceptance: Huh, these changes aren't so bad after all. I just changed a couple things on my build, and I'm still as good as before. I guess I'll keep playing for a while. The game is still fun, after all.

When a new patch is announced, or when new patch notes are published, return immediately to point 1, or occasionally jump directly to point 2.
