Can you Turn the Spawn rates Back Down?

I went into Breaking the Planet which use to be really fun. The re spawn rate is cranked up so fast it's not fun anymore. Trying to do it with a pug. Is really frustrating. A engineer will drop his phaser turret on top of a spawn point. Within agro range of three other spawns. That's where the pug group will stay until the group wipes. Fighting the same four spawns.

I have tried repeatedly to tell the players. We have to keep moving or they will spawn on top of us. It never worked because they would just end up stopping. So I quit trying to tell them.

If you do get to the outer ring. When the group decides to stop and wipe. You can be sure most of you will spawn in different places.

I never heard anyone say these were to easy. Before they cranked the spawn rates up. Just that they were fun. I have heard plenty since they didn't like them anymore. The spawn rates now are to much. They used to be fun. Now you just die repeatedly. After a few deaths most of the players will beam out.

I have not played breaking the planet with my last two toons because of the ridiculous spawn rate

The ground based part of the Starbase 24 mission is the same way, if you try to take a moment to heal and recoup, they spawn right on top of you

I have 2 fleet actions that i cant get completed because the pug groups are just not able to keep things going. The Dig and the Cristaline Entity. CE is rediculous. We got it down to 30% 3 times and then it would get healed by the big shards back up to 80 - 100% agan. Really annoying.

I quit doing CE also because griefers would wait till you get it to 30% and then start dropping mines on the shards. The thing is I really want to do the ground fleet actions. I was going to level my ground spec tactical officer. It was just no use everyone one quit doing them. They get killed a few times now beam out and drop the quest.

Before the patch when they jacked up the re spawn rate in Breaking the Planet. I remember people would comment a lot how fun it was. The day the patch came out you would here. This is stupid no point in doing this anymore. Well, back to questing.

I first did Breaking the Planet when STO was first released. It was loads of fun because there would be like 30+ people going through the missions. There wasn't even time for the enemy to respawn. Now you'll get lucky if you get 5 people in at the same time. Same is true for all the lower level fleet actions, like Crystalline Catastrophe.

I know that what makes it some much harder now. There only 5 in there because they changed the way people go into fleet actions. It's your level now. So they increased the re spawn rates and you don't have all the different levels of players together. If it was just all of T3 together and all T4 together. It wouldn't be that bad. You would have more than 5 in there.

WHat if they borrowed a page from City of Heroes, and made the spawns in the fleet actions all ranked at 0 no matter what your level, as the Rikti and Zombies are in CoH?

That is, the damage and defenses would be scaled up or down depending on your level. That way, they could have everyone at every level involved in the same instance.

I know the mobs scale to your level. Now you are only in fleet actions with players your level. People were complaining that higher level players were in there taking the loot. Lower level players didn't have the chance to get any. So they split them up and jacked up the re spawn rate. Now there are hardly anyone in them.

Unfortunately, this is a typical solution.

Guys,.. Cryptic. I really want to see you succeed. Can you please either reduce the amount of mobs on the maps, so you can move 10 feet without a fight... OR.. reduce or remove the respawn.

It really get's ridiculous and makes the game NOT FUN.

We want to PROGRESS through the map. The feeling of progression is destroyed by constantly having the mobs we just killed respawn 2 seconds after we killed them.

    More mobs =/= more fun

The respawn rate doesn't need to be removed completely, just based upon how many people are in the fleet action. For example, 1 - 10 people = no respawn, 11 - 20 people = 50% of current respawn, 21-30 = 100% of current respawn

Welcome to STOs version of Champions Online War on Fun. Again be careful when you tell Cryptic things are "Too Easy" They do this. CO was once a very fun game to play, now it is a frustrating mess that requires you to be three levels above any area or have a group. :(

And despite months of war on fun post Cryptic has yet to change it back. Now go find the Basement dwellers who don't even play any more.and thank them. :(

I never saw anyone complain about the fleet actions being to easy. I remember in Breaking the Planet. Every match before they set the re spawn to warp 9.9. People would comment about how fun breaking the planet was. After the patch that cranked up the re spawn. They just said it was stupid and no reason to do it anymore.

I for one think there was and are some EVE trolls trying to hurt the game. You can still see some of them advertising in post. Always talking about how great EVE is in every post and how bad STO is. I am not saying a massive group of them. They were always trying to get unrealistic and EVE like changes made. Most of them don't play like you say and they do as well.

i think when they had 20 people per instance it was too easy and i agree with more spawning, however they were never going to remain full at all times, so now you only have 5 or 6 people per fleet action it does make it very hard and annoying to play

if they can change it to spawn depending on the number of players currently in the zone, that would be cool or just turn it back down to what it was. otherwise less and less people will do fleet actions, and thats not a good idea

I would be willing to try a fluctuating spawn rate or none at all. When they re spawn it does seem you are not making any progress. If the re spawn fluctuated with the number of players. I think you would still have the same problem where the players would just stop till the group wipes. If there was 20 in Breaking the planet all in different places. You still have the same problem.

I just know something needs to be done. They were fun once now there not.

THIS. The thing a lot of game designers tend to forget in their quest to make things challenging is that they have to make them FUN, too.

I totally agree there is a trade off between difficulty and fun factor. There is a point where something becomes to hard and it's no longer fun. The way they were before was great.
