I would really really really like to see the ramulans become playable characters, and i dont mean unlockable in the federation or something like that. i mean as a new empire to play for like the klingons or the federation. im not sure if this is already on the drawing board but i think it would be a good idea to move towards eventually having all of the different empires playable. That would make for some amazing pvp as a bonus.
It seems it's between Romulans and Borg for the next player Faction - mostly likely an Expansion Pack. My money's on the Romulans. The Borg seem like a better enemy then Faction, IMO, and should be saved for last rather then first.
I dont know how borg could be a playable race since, please correct me if im wrong, arnt borg like controlled by one mind or something? so how could we actually play on our own?

I don't think most people play characters like they are acted in the various series and movies. I doubt every Vulcan player is all logical or every Ferengi player is trying to win money from the people he teams with.
Ultimately a Faction is just a series of races and ships that players get to advance through. The players might run around saying "We are the Borg" but for the most part they're really only focusing on the drops and advancement like everyone else. Singular hive-minds are not required.

Here's one way that it could happen ...
The Borg were all liberated by some huge advanced race. Let's call them the Caeliar. This advanced powerful race disconnects every single borg from the collective. And eliminates the queen. Completely.
They then invite all liberated borg to return to the Caliar home city. And join with them in a telepathic/psychic Gestalt similar to, but far more benign and nurturing than the collective.
And those that do, become part of a new force for good in the galaxy as they set out on an ongoing mission to undo what the borg have wrought.
BUT ...
What happens to those that don't?
What if they soldier on like good little MACOs or some such. And create their own versions of a collective. Far weaker than before.
What if they craft their own liberated but still loosely linked malevolent communal hierarchy.
What if these new, different, weaker borg show up one day at the Vega Colony? And attack?
What if we already are fighting a new borg faction?
And what if it's all the fault of Captain Archer's girlfriend?
Well I want Romulans first. I would imagine *if* Borg were added, you would simply play a Borg Queen and control all your drones like BO's. Not really super interesting and I am so over the Borg....
So far in the story arcs, Hirogen are allied with the Romulans. Sela brought them in when she shored up her power base.
I guess that could change, but everything in-game has pointed to them being Romulan allied.
Yeah, I know they're currently allied. They're just a big race with their own agenda in canon, which leads me to believe they'd be more interesting as their own Faction.

Probably not a Borg Queen. You'd be more like 1 of 11. Your BOs would be assimilated during ground combats.

a complete lack of vision except to destroy everything in your path and take everyone elses shiny and make it yours.
Strangely similar how the view of many MMOs are and those of the Borg..

New playable races such as the Romulans would be nice. But Cryptic would probably end up putting it in their C-Store. Hey Cryptic, take a page out of Blizzard's playbook and add it to the character list without involving your micro-transaction system. The money you have been receiving from lifetime subscribers more than makes up for productin costs.

I certainly hope it is not Borg, not ever. If Borg were a playable race, and it was done correctly, a player as a Borg who not be able to make any decision for him/herself. The Collective makes every decision, sends you where they want, when they want, to do what they want.
So, as you can see, Borg should not be a playable race. Borg also pose a threat to both Federation and the Empire, and so present the most likely outlet for the Fed. - Klingon War to end.
Romulans would be great, my current Vulcan Starfleet Officer might some day show some clear signs of emergent Romulan qualities. And that's not good for all that is just and proper in the world.

If the Ramulans become a faction, does that mean we can have Rymans and Horogen as other options within the faction?
Rymans are, after all, the best damn rappers in the Beta Quadrant.

Agreed. This would make for the epic Star Trek experience.

And your forum name is Lamb-Chop?
This is a troll post victory.
