There is a guy cheating in Ground PvP (Ghost Ship FvK), name i wont say because im not sure it is allowed in here.
He joins the map but is not assigned to our team (fed) but is still ally to us.
Well we run around on the map searching for the enemy Klingons.
And as soon as we engage them he turns red and starts shooting us.
and then ... he starting laughing and teabags our corpses...
Also he can run through our Repulsor shields as if they werent there.
He did it in every match.
I wrote a ticket to the GMs, but posting this here anyway because maybe someone will read this who saw something like this too.
And maybe someone has a idea how he does it and can help the devs to fix this.
O'No, not him again. I've seen him do it too. The guy is a waste, uses riflebutt spam as his main attack most times. Too bad for him that hold is getting removed in the next patch. (I believe O'N is correct start to his name).

I don't think anyone is hacking, but maybe so. It's a bug. I've played about 1000 pvp missions. Seriously. It's happened to me only a couple of times. I've ended up on the wrong side after respawning. This can be good in an imbalanced fight. : )
Anyway, I've seen this happen several times. It's a bug in PvP and I've seen it happen to many different people. But maybe someone has figured out how to exploit the bug and make it happen all the time.
Are you always seeing the same person doing this? If so, then it is an exploit of a bug. Report him/her and report the bug.
I see people get spawned on the opposite team sometimes.. usually they relog or leave.. or whatnot. never seen them be able to attack.. or change sides at will.
Cryptic takes exploiting (of known bugs) very seriously, as evidenced by GM_Litana's numerous posts and actions on the subject.
Report the behaviour, then feel free to PM GM_Litana about it with a ticket #. If you are uncertain if something is actually a bug/exploit, post about it (with ticket #) in the Gameplay Bugs forum, where it would get maximum exposure to GM_Litana's team.
Make certain to refrain from posting any player names or handles.
Also be sure to post steps to reproduce the bug/exploit (if you are not certain whether or not is is actually a bug/exploit), as well as anything else that was happening at the time.
Yes, it is a bug. It has been around since launch and, most likely, before then. Yes, the player in question is exploiting the bug by doing it every match.
Also be sure to post steps to reproduce the bug/exploit (if you are not certain whether or not is is actually a bug/exploit), as well as anything else that was happening at the time.
While I understand you are just paraphrasing the standard GM cut and paste response, I would like to point out how ridiculous it is to require the player who is reporting another player who repeatedly and knowingly exploits a bug to give a detailed description of how to reproduce the exploit. Some might even say that such a requirement is illogical. What am I supposed to do? Pay a hack site for an STO exploit guide so I can file a report with Cryptic?
Best case scenario is that the GMs formulated this cut and paste response by borrowing from another existing response (when a player self reports a bug he discovered himself) and worst case scenario is that Cryptic doesn't have the tools to collect data to investigate such reports. Either way, it's sloppy and doesn't exactly inspire faith that the GMs are competent beyond the use of a flow chart.

I was unaware there is a way to intentionally do this. I think anyone who PvPs often on ground has ended up on the enemy team after a disconnect. I usually log off and back on and it fixes itself.
Although sometimes you will get tossed out of the match because someone else will enter while you are disconnected.

First, I am not merely paraphrasing what GM, DEV, and QA team members have frequently told players (in PM, forum posts, IRC, and in-game chat). I am relaying what I have seen work for other players as well as myself. If you wish to see direct evidence, merely browse the Tribble forums, specifically the Tribble bug forum. Or, browse the Gameplay Bugs forum.
Second, I suggested posting the steps to reproduce a bug if you are uncertain whether or not it is a bug. In the very worst case, other players reproduce it and they (or others) complain about it as well, which escalates the issue in the DEV priority list, causing it to be investigated and fixed much sooner.
The more complaints about a common issue, the greater priority is assigned to it.

The process you are describing is to help devs squash bugs. That's fine. However, the subject of this thread is exploiters. Yes, we all understand that in order to exploit, there has to be a bug that can be exploited. However, there is a big difference between reporting a bug and reporting an exploiter. Dealing with bugs is a dev's job. Dealing with exploiters is a GM's job.
Let me explain by using an analogy : You are walking down the street and find a dead body on the side of the road. You call 911 to report it to the police. At that point, the police respond, "Thank you for reporting the body. We'll take it from here." Then they take your contact information in case they have any questions later. They do not say "Well, before we come out there we'll need to know the cause of death."
Hopefully my "worst case scenario" is not the reality and the GMs do have the tools to properly investigate reports of exploiting and then the power to take action if found guilty - warn, suspend, ban, etc. And I assume this is what goes on and it is not really their official policy that reporting a player for exploiting requires such a specific, overly burdensome degree of information before it is taken seriously (which is what they make it sound like by asking for details to reproduce the bug).
I would assume that details about the things that people are complaining about are meant to help eliminate player misunderstanding of certain abilities before spending loads of time on BS claims. If the police responded to a call about a dead body and failed to ask anything else of the people who found it then how hard are they trying?
I would prefer to be able to start a thread labeled: "I'm unhappy..."
The body of text should read: "Fix it!"
And now I can expect my problems to be solved, right? Or perhaps a bit more information is needed. They are game developers, clearly flawed, not mind readers.
yep, tier 5, i see him and i switch to my fed and kill him, filed reports under behavior about him, hes... like a fly, annoying and spawned from... well you get the idea
Oh, he's been doing that forever. He usually gets stomped pretty bad. I can't believe they have let him get away with this for 2 months. Great job cryptic.
i see him in pvp ground missions on red team.. every time i see him he's playing with a player called surgery.. i dont know if their friends but when i see one i see the other.. and i pvp alot.
this was listed in the release notes to be fixed last big patch on april 13th, "spawning into map while dead will no longer result in being assigned to wrong side" .. yes that is ONE way it used to happen, how you do it without dying is beyond me.. im not much interested in knowing or using such info..
i just know it's happening ALOT, they start a pvp ground match, then all of a sudden all switch to red and leave you alone on blue. .. it's just stupid... but since pvp waits are soo freakin long, if you need to participate in the match to finish your daily,, you have to just take it like a b*tch.. die 40 times and repeat 2 more times, collect your marks and do it all over 3 days later.
i belive surgury just pvps alot, and that he hets a kick outa stomping him, i can almost promise they are not friends lol, i go after him too, i like killing him
Surgery just pvp's allot but w=from what i remember in beta you could log off and back on after a death or ui bug and be switched to the other team. donno how it is now since i have not done ground pvp allot recently.
I saw hiim at it again today; I requested GM help but had to go cook dinner straight after the match - don't know if any GMs looked into it. I took screenshots - will upload later.
i see him in pvp ground missions on red team.. every time i see him he's playing with a player called surgery.. i dont know if their friends but when i see one i see the other.. and i pvp alot.
O'Neil isn't friends with Surgery or any of the other hardcore Klingon PvP'ers. It's just a coincidence that he happens to be in the same games that we play in since we play ground PvP all the time.
Actually when my Klingon team finds him, we (and Surgery) do everything possible to keep him alive on the Blue side so that he doesn't re-spawn onto the Red side.
Why Cryptic allows one person that has now become famous for ruining the PVP experience to stick around is beyond me.
I've been in matches with him. If his side is loosing, he will switch sides. If his side is winning then he will melee spam anyone that his group is attacking. I'm sure he's been reported by tons of people since there is now a thread 3 pages long about him. Yet Cryptic does nothing. No email to him, no GM telling him to straighten out his act, nothing.
If someone was to do that in any other on-line game they would be shown the door.
I am a very casual player that has played some Everquest, Asheron's Call, CoH, Warcraft, and now STO. I am VERY inexperienced at PvP but recently made Admiral 5, and what else is there to do besides PvP? So I started dabbling in it 2 days ago and was getting my clock cleaned in space battles. I decided to try a ground fight and became completely confused when I suddenly realized I had no blue teammates, yet some Fed guy in a white uniform was fighting against me. I thought I was just hopelessly naive about PvP until I started reading this forum. How can they allow this kind of thing to go on?
If I wasn't such a Star Trek fan and hadn't been suckered into a one year sub, I assure you I would be gone. There is nothing left in this game for a casual player like me. And I have NEVER reached end game content in any MMO I played until now, and it only took me 3 months. I only got into the 40s of Warcraft after about 8 months. I only got into the 40s of CoH after several years (although I did play many different characters since each was such a unique experience). I have no desire to start with a new character in this game. That says alot about the lack of content.
At least the economy works well,. Oh wait. No it doesn't. At least the crafting is neat. Oh wait. No, it sucks. Well at least now I can participate in Federation Outreach!
this idiot is ruining pvp... and the Cryptic GMs do nothing... so lame...
Every time I have encountered him in a match, he switches sides as soon as his team starts losing... and he thinks it's funny... he brags about it in spatial and zone chat.
Of course, one just has to look at his results to ascertain that he lacks any perceivable skills and has to resort to exploiting to get by...
and Cryptic allows him to carry on unchallenged... unacceptable!
I have multiple screenshots from several matches including his bragging in chat of this tool exploiting the bug should the GMs care enough to do something.

I did see some weird stuff with mindmeld this past weekend. Was the guy a Vulcan by any chance?
