Please change the STO cursor (pointer) to something more visible! I can't find it half the time.

Change the color perhaps?

I am going to bump this thread.

I think we should be able to enlarge the cursor or like the OP said, change the color. I also have this problem, but I just kinda thought it might be cause my tv being soo big.

If they would just add a cursor trails option, the current pointer would become plenty visible.

I would like to offer suggestions.

Make the color of the cursor more bright, maybe even Neon-colored?

Or use a different/opposite color (that is also bright or that glows/pulses) from the UI HUD setting. Such as, Federation HUD is blue, so maybe an Orange (or Yellow) color on the cursor? Klingon UI HUD is red, so a brighter Green Cursor/pointer would help make it stand out. Go the opposite/complimentary color on the Color Wheel.

    I endorse this thread.

I suggest maybe a neon green cursor and maybe a little larger. Something along the lines of the cursor used in Star Craft. Many a PvP death has been caused by me not being able to see the darn cursor. Minor problem with an easy fix.

Definitely need an easier cursor to see. I'm leaning toward a bright neon color that pulsates.

I've learned to live with a higher resolution but have lost my cursor far more that once in the heat of a good fight.

Agreed. I've had allies in the STF die on me because I lost my cursor and was unable to heal them in time. It would be great if it were a bit more visable. I guess that's what I get for having a 1920x1200 resolution monitor,

Yep. I have signed a thread a week or so ago on a similar thing. A lot of STO users are older like myself and find it hard to see it at high resolution.

I totally agree. Give us an option to make it yellow red etc and maybe a little bigger.

Aye. Running the game in 1920 x 1080, and the cursor gets lost like a tiny ship in a vast ocean. :p

I am so embarrassed by the many times I have died or failing to heal a team mate due to not finding my cursor.

    Nope..didn't do a thing..same cursor..no change.

Along with allowing a color change to the Pointer Icon, how about also making it SCALABLE.

Higher the resolution the smaller the Pointer..........Sucks getting old, but it's a fact of life.

Nice one coderanger. Im gonna try that out.

Please people who dont agree try to understand that to know what were talking about you really need to be running at a high res, 1920 x 1080 or close. This will give you a better idea of the small cursour issue.

Thanks. Now to switch my normal desktop cursor into something that stands out in STO better than just black and white

EDIT: interesting side effect. Using the normal desktop cursor means that you don't get to see the item you're dragging and dropping until you've dropped it into the location you're dropping it into.

That code changes the cursor to your normal desktop cursor. It doesn't take immediate effect though, you need to alt-tab or mouseover to a different screen if you're using more than one monitor.

I have poor eye sight and my screen res is 1600x900 and can honestly say I have never lost my cursor.

That being said, I have no problem with a cursor customizer.

im not all about chging my desktop cursor for a game one...

how about we get icons that match a cambadge as a cursor and have the color match the toons field of interest... (i.e. blue for sci, etc...)
the klinks could have the klingon symbol with similar effects.

not too hard to do, but then again, im not too unhappy with it now...just offering a possible way to stay trek like and still have a decent cursor

Good for you. I play on 1680 x 1050 and have frequently lost my cursor. Especially when I'm drunk. +1 for customizable cursors!
