if there was it must have been a very very very long time ago, before development began, i haven't seen any official vote from cryptic about that, it could have just been players discussing it

It was part of the poll shortly after launch.

It was tied for most wanted addition with some other things... basically, the main thing that particular answer showed was two things people didn't care about, with the rest split kinda evenly.

If I could find the results bage I could be more detailed.

That might be what you're looking for, vote functionality.

That's the new poll-of-the-week about what people want out of ship interiors, yes.

I could be totally misunderstanding here, but I do believe they are still working on a way to assign your "number one" from among your bridge officers.

As well as a way to assign a specific customized uniform to your "red shirts"

As well as a way to let you sit in your chair on your bridge.

The sitting down functionality I believe is scheduled for May.

The rest ... ask dstahl in the engineering reports? If he has an answer, he'll definitely give it to you.

By "bridge command" I am guessing you mean flying the ship from the captain's chair looking at the forward view screen?

If they do include that I hope it is optional, I kind of like being able to see all the way around the ship with a quick mouse movement, rather than only being able to see in only one direction using the view screen.

I know some folks want the functional bridge like Kirk and Picard had, but it is not feasible in any kind of battle, at least not one in which you want to win in.

    Here's what you're looking for:

    It's bridge combat with a 29% tie.

I hope not - unless there's some intuitive voice recognition system or my BOFFs can control the ship.

Captains did very little during ship-to-ship combat in the films - which translates to boring gameplay.

Also, navigation was done by someone else.

There are some things best left to the medium of film and others best left to the medium of games - different media have different merits, though sometimes overlap.

Of course, let us roleplay on the bridge - maybe have diplomatic talks on them.

But action and warp-space navigation are best left to external camera views - especially due to firing arcs.

Ahh yes. And 23% for more dialog and diplomacy. With less than half of that each for familiar places and people.

To full bridge combat, I say "having may not be so pleasing a thing as wanting", but it's obviously in-demand so I'm awaiting what Cryptic eventually does.

While there were many aspects people didn't like about the Death Penalty - Cryptic did make it interesting by having unique injuries.

It'd be cool if injuries like radiation burns, headaches, and cuts had appropriate visual feedback (or custom idle animations - i.e. shivering from hypothermia, clutching head with free hand due to trauma).

*scratches head* Are you sure you're replying to the right post of mine? I don't get the connection...

That said, appropriate visual feedback on the injury system would have been nice.

This is the only Star Trek game I've never played, and I actually kind of regret it.

Without exception, the feedback I've heard about Bridge Commander has been positive.
