Ok,i didnt cancel my sub, you billed me hahah good for you.
You are money grabers and legal bandits. It's is trick.
I buy your game, and had one month free playing. But you didnt let me play of course if i dont give you my credit card number. Ok,what to do, no credit card no play!
So I did it. After my one month I decided not to pay for more, and I deleted even Star trek from my computer.
And ooooh now i see why you wanted my credit card number. So you can bill me once again.
It's a little trick and you now it. Ok you filthy money grabers, you robbed me. Congratz
I dont even have the will to yell at you, cause you legaly ****ed me over.
Once more,good for you.
Oh and, your game sucks, that's not suprise me cause you even can steal money right. You billed me for Chamipons Online, game which I didnt even played - EVER!
This is how *all* P2P MMOs work. *All* of them ask you for a credit card or game time card. *All* of them require you to actively cancel your account from your account page. *All* of them work exactly this way.
I'm sorry, but I think you're mad at the wrong people.
I made my account.
I added the credit card.
Once the account creation was finalized, I canceled the subscription and removed the credit card.
I still get all 30 days of free play, and no way they can charge my card.
They didn't trick you. You forgot, have the integrity to place the blame on the right party. Pssst! That' you.
Silvijanus....reading comprehension is where it's at these days, There was no trick to it and you have no-one but yourself to blame. From My account details;

I know im the one to blame, this is why im not yelling. I can yell on me only for not beign careful.
I bought Star trek game and have 30 days free with my copy. You cant play without credit card number,so i put my numbers in,and forget about it. I never payed them from my card. I have my 30 days..
Bah..when you cancel your acc they give you survey "oooh so sad you are leaving..why are you leaving blah blah blah"
********,its stupid format of billing and they know it and rub their hands beceause Im not the only one who forgot to delete sub.
Its stupid...i play one month then I cant play other month cause of exams etc. , so what I must cancel my acc?!
I never had this problem with warcraft or Warhammer.
If i want to play i will pay...but no..
Ok,good for them they got me,and you are right. Im to blame myself only.
People, when you buy game cancel your sub on the same thay. LOL
If you know you're bad at remembering to cancel stuff then force yourself to WRITE STUFF DOWN. It couldn't be simpler. Use post-its, your calendar, your PC, your phone, your PDA, whatever, as long as it's something you check regularly or that can give you automated reminders.
Each time you subscribe to something just make a note of when the next billing date is due and that you need to decide in time to cancel or stay subscribed.
Or an even better solution: don't rely on automatic renewal at all.

Today I told my friend, lawyer about this. This is almost illegal. And even not almost,i wont sue i dont care for 12 $, but this is really lame idea to grab some money.
already seen before, that is why law stoped to similar kind od doing business. "business"
to keep this short, law is: you cant bill or charge me for product i didnt ask! I bought my copy, installed, had my 30 days, i didnt payed them anything with my credit card. But as you know to activate acc you must give them card. As i sad, ok i didnt read the smallprint and fusnotes blah blah...to law even that doesn't matter.
It's a trick. How can they bill me and take money from my card? If i want to buy it,i will. They cant deliver their product this way. cant. againt the law. period.
I know lots of people fall on this little trick, also I know this post probably will not do anything about it.
just to know.
Actually you did tell them to bill you . You did it when you selected a recurring subscription. and failed on your own part to not cancel that subscription.
Actually, no. I know someone will say that, even I told that to my friend lawyer.
But no,that is the reason that law want to put an end to this kind of doing buisness.
I bought my copy, and activated my account, I never bought anything from them with my card.
On friday i usually order pizza,or something. every friday. Today i think i wont do that. You think they will send me pizza tonight? Oh here you go, we have your credit card and you order on friday so we decided to bill you in advance. So you dont bother. Maybe not good example. But that is the law. You cant deliver your product if i dont buy first.
You must order, then pay and then they deliver. Company cant send you product and than ask you to pay, this is even worse. They deliever and billed automaticly. hahahahah
and they cant even that do right, they billed me for Chamipons online hahahah
If I sue i would probably get refund, but im not living in USA, and lawsuit for this would be too big fuss only for matter of principal. I dont care for 11 dolars,i will survive, but just to know, this is againt the law.
Go ahead and sue. Sue them for $1 million in punitive damages too, just to make it worth your time.
You won't win.
Following your example of ordering pizza, if you told the pizza shop to send you a pizza every month and charge it automatically, they would do it and you'd be responsible for it. Same situation.. you could have cancelled the subscription immediately after activating your account. You could have cancelled it for the next 29.9 days, but you didn't. You forgot, and you got billed. That is YOUR fault, not Cryptic's.
Your lawyer friend is giving you bad advice, not that I believe you spoke to a lawyer, because any lawyer living outside the US would say, "Your agreement specifically states that the laws of the agreement are under US Jurisdiction." So if you did speak to a lawyer, he must be out of work, because he's a horrible lawyer that gives worthless advice.
Be a man and admit your own mistake, stop trying to pass the buck off onto someone else because you're a forgetful person. Though I know you don't have the testicular fortitude to be honest. If you truly don't care about 11 dollars (odd isn't it, because the monthly fee for 1 month is $15) then stop posting about it.
he's not out of work, and he definitly didnt give me advice to sue Cryptic. Not at all. we just talked about that, than look what law says about it..
one month sub is 15$?! Didnt now really cause they billed me little les than 12 dolars for champions online. Oh,did i sad before, I NEVER PLAYED OR EVEN INSTALLED CHAMPIONS ONLINE ON MY COMPUTER.

Which is also strange since the month rate is also 14.99 for champions
from their FAQ
: Will a monthly fee be required to play?
A: A monthly fee is required for Champions Online. Our current pricing is as follows:
$14.99 recurring for a month-to-month subscription.
$41.97 recurring for a 3-month subscription. ($13.99 per month)
$77.94 recurring for a 6-month subscription. ($12.99 per month)
yeah, strange and that is what get me angry more then they billed me.
Later i can go check on my bank list, it was somethin like: *my card numbers* Champions Online 11,45. Or 11,90$
I highly doubt it would even make it to any court that matters. I highly doubt it's even illegal anywhere that matters. Considering the account subscription "interface" is nigh identical to, let's see:
World of Warcraft
Lord of the Rings Online(@Codemasters anyway)
Age of Conan(If I recall correctly)
And the list goes on. Would be very strange if gaming companies across the world were riding on legal loopholes. It would be in the news and promptly stomped by overzealous consumer protection services, too.
Maybe you should contact Cryptic and ask nicely if they would refund it.
Also, what currency is your bank statement in, anyway?(Because 15 USD = ~11,33 EUR, for example!)
yeah, strange and that is what get me angry more then they billed me.

makes no sense.
Your irritation is understandable, and I'm sure it feels like you were scammed. But we give them permission to bill us when we sign up, and it is OUR responsibility to tell them not to if we decide we don't like the game.
It's regrettable that you didn't like the game, and even more regrettable that you (apparently) forgot to cancel your account when you quit the game, so they billed you. But they didn't do anything illegal, or even unethical. They didn't know you had removed the game, or that you wouldn't be back. As far as they knew, you were happy with the game.
I'd also urge you to contact Cryptic. Explain the situation calmly and politely, explain that it was a simple error, that you'd already quit playing and removed the game, and simply forgot to cancel your account. Be polite, and accept your responsibility for the error, and ask them if there's anything they can do. Don't demand, don't shout, don't yell. Remain polite and respectful in all your communications with them.
I don't know how they'll respond, but the worst that can happen is they say no. If they do, you're no worse off than you are now.
