Does this count as CC fraud?

Bought two copies of the game from Atari's website for the 60 extra days promotion. Big surprise, Cryptic charged me a monthly for both accounts at the 30th day. I sent in a ticket and was told:
From reviewing your account details, it appears that you are not eligible for this promotionla offer. The promotion was for the weekend of 5th-8th March. Your Atari retail key was applied before this time, meaning you did not purchase during the promotion. If you have any further questions regarding your account then please contact us again. Regards, Cryptic Studios Support

Of course Atari's website no longer had the promotion up but I don't remember seeing "You must wait a week before using this key to get your 60 days" when I bought it about a week before th 5th.

Called Atari and they said it was a known problem and would be fixed and no they don't have a copy anywhere of this promotion to verify the date requirements. Yesterday I got an email from Atari saying:
We apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide extended time through the online store. We are an e-commerce company and do not have the ability to do this.

I.E. "Not our problem"

So, I bought the game for a promotion that Atari is disavowing and Cryptic is refusing to acknowledge because I didn't wait a week after I bought the game to play it.

Did Atari scam me? Or was it Cryptic when they charged the monthly fee? If I call my CC, which charge do I dispute, the Atari or the Cryptic?

I hate to say it... but alot of people don't look at the fine print when seeing promotions such as these and then complain when they find out that they weren't eligible... sorry it happened to you bro.

Kind of conveniant that nobody at Cryptic or Atari can point out that fine print.

But hey you seem to know about it, care to share?

Oh wait, what do we have here....
    Hi everyone,

We understand that some of you are upset about the current sale on Atari.com. There are a number of threads on the forums about this, which is making it very difficult to find information about anything else on these forums. Due to this, we are closing all other threads regarding this matter. We do value your feedback on this, matter however, and would appreciate it if you would post your feedback regarding this matter here, in this thread. All other threads regarding this will be closed.

    Thanks,
    Phoxe

    Addendum:
I've heard many voicing concerns that we will not be honoring this sale for anyone who took advantage of it this weekend. This is not the case at all, and anyone who decided to take advantage of the offer will receive what they purchased, as advertised.

    But hey, fine print.

Didn't say there was fine print. The might not've been. This really isn't something that shouldbe be in PC & Technical issues though.. this is something for like Billing.

    What.

And there is no billing forum, this the only "support" forum. I tried submitting tickets, calling both Cryptic and Atari and emailing both Cryptic and Atari. And here we are.

    Fine Print

Also forgot: If you call the phone # on the support page at http://startrekonline.com/support/billing you get a recording saying they don't do phone support anymore.

    This printing is pretty fine

Aaaand they've already said that any threads like this would be locked so way to be productive

Also, I did not say there was for certain fine print. I said that will things such as these there usually is fine print that people miss andt then feel scammed. Don't blame me for your misinterpreting my words.

Not sure how you don't understand this.

    Atari offers sale.

Cryptic explicitly says they will honor this sale even if you buy it early

    They don't honor the sale

You helpfully explain "I said that will things such as these there usually is fine print that people miss"

    Help

    Okay... I'll help...

Let me hack into their billing system and change that right up for you ;)

Unfortunately, I lack any of those skills. Maybe one of the Cryptic IT people will notice this and know how to fix a billing issue...

Well, they don't answer the phones anymore.

The submitted ticket said "We aren't going to honor that" even though their rep stated they would.

Atari says it's not their problem, they just sell stuff.

This leaves me with their forums which apparantly offends you.

I'm all ears, what do I do now.

Well, like I said, unless the Cyrptic Support Team sees this and decides to see what they can do there's not much we can do here on the forums.

I'd suggest opening another Ticket with Cryptic and asking them to provide proof as to the terms of the promotion.

Don't know if the thread helped or not but they refunded the monthly charges finally.

Didn't get the 60 day credit but can't win them all i guess.
