A man goes to see his doctor. "It hurts whenever I raise my left arm," he says. "Don't raise your left arm, then." I'd really like to just take this approach to the problem, but this crash happens in a main story mission, and I'd like to see why the Udine have an interest in the USS Athens. My game has crashed six or seven times trying to get past the level Messhall Mayhem in the mission Wargames. It usually lets me kill the first, second, third, and fourth squads (corridor, vestibule, then two in the messhall itself [it's been enough times that, yes, I know this]), but the fifth squad causes a crash (outside the messhall).
Is this just a bugged mission?
I updated my ATI driver in retaliation, but that just allowed Crash #7 to happen, though I think it may have been a little more stable. I'm unsure.
I have:
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
Intel Core2Quad Q9550 @ 2.83 Ghz
8 Gb of DDR3 RAM
ATI Radeon HD 4870 with 1 gb of GRAM
I think those are the relevant data points for this problem. If it matters, I run iTunes, rather than listen to the music that's included with the game, and I'm running dual monitors, with one just showing my clock, performance, etc. widgets and iTunes. I can't imagine that a quadcore would have any trouble running the game and iTunes but maybe that's my problem?
Do you all have any suggestions, besides just not going to that point in the level?
