forced to delete my character

I have had to delete my Rear admiral due to ''CRYPTIC'' messing up a few files in a patch and this disabled my character.

after many tickets there is still no help from them into getting an equivalent or the same character back and not even any compensation for the problem that is from THEIR side and not mine, and just for the admins who may read this ,you can look at these tickets and maybe help me to get that character back or to make an equivalent for me as it was NOT my fault,and yes i know cryptic dont want bad comments about the game but i find that there is nearly no support on these types of issues and they are not willing to help me get my character back which i lost due to a simple patch failure from their side(sent locked and unreadable files)

alot of people will defend cryptic but also alot of people have had this problem and have also had no help but if you can copyy a character to tribble test shard ,then why cant you copy it back from there.

please comment on this post as there is alot wrong with this game and it is not good for people paying a monthly subscription if they are being dissapointed by the bad support for every problem they have.

    Wow that's some customer support there, way to make people want to stick around. Don't think i'd be able to not "visit" cryptic if that happened to me.

    I hope you get this resolved to your satisfaction. As a rule of thumb though, never delete a character unless you are willing to never see that character again. I can't think of any reason to delete a character. Character issues should be fixed by the game company.

    Maybe he needed the space because we only get 3 character slots without paying more for them.

    i received locked files in which made my character inaccesible because the files had not carried the new information for the game correctly and therefore gave me different sets of fatal errors and codes in which i had to fix by doing researched into the STO forums and also the Champions forums because this seems to be a issue that cryptic have alot and are not willing to fix,

    i am currently using all 3 of my character slots again as i have a klingon and my fathers tactical along with my own i have had to start again but i am willing to buy cryptic points for a new 2 character slots if they can somehow give me back my character or perhaps make me a new character in which they can put as level 45 for me and i will be happy to do the rest.

    but i have missed alot of the new content and have lost alot of STF's such as ''infected''-''the cure''-and khitoma accord,i had completed infected and the cure a number of times and had nearly all purple items on my rear admiral before the disaster strook and the only way to be able to play again was to delete my RA as it had became a block for my gameplay.

    Cryptic needs to delete STO and start over. Or maybe Artari needs to delete cryptic and start over.

    typical and not very surprising,

    no responce from support because they are to busy doing very petty stuff instead of fixing the big problems that are at hand,

    iv been trying to get this problem sorted for too long now and still i have no luck in getting my problem fixed,I want an admin to look at this and deal with the problem caused by the STO team on the season 1 update which made many people loose there gameplay and make there accounts inaccessible due to patches not patching and characters giving the same ''FATAL'' error which was being set off by the patch sending (locked files) which could not be opened nor read by computers and this caused all gameplay to cease,now if i dont get this problem sorted then im gonna be majorly unhappy as the support i have seen from this game so far is poor and needs sorting out because there is alot of problems with this game and they are only going to get worse if not dealt with.

    I don't imagine anyone on this forums is going to be much help, it seems unlikely the support staff even read the forums.

    I can't really tell from your post, did support TELL you to delete your character or did you undertake that action on your own? Either way, the only real recourse is to continue to hammer support for a solution. I spent countless hours in other games filing ticket after ticket until I was promoted to a senior support engineer who could fix my problem. At each stage, I would be told that there was nothing more they could do and I would dutifully open a new ticket until eventually I got someone who could help.

    Anyhow, my only advice is that you need to keep contacting support, they are the only way you're going to get this resovled, especially now you've deleted your character. Unless this post was just a door slam in disguise and you've already given up, in which case my advice is falling on deaf ears.

    Good luck and don't give up.

    no iv not given up and yes i deleted the character on my own but it was necessary so i could continue gameplay.

    I feel where you come from about support as they realy dont read the forums ,i have noticed all the silly problems get dealt with instantly but it seems that big problems are just overlooked and ignored like they are being thrown into a dark corner.

    you realy need to get your acts together and deal with the big problems instead of looking elsewhere because ur game is soon going to be losing alot of player who are fed up with the way they are being treated,this for you means you loose money and we know you wont like that.

    please get this problem sorted for me as it has been overlooked now since season 1 update and i am coming to the points where im not sure if i should be paying my subscription for gameplay im not being able to get and i feel that us players with big problems just get thrown away.

    thanks every1 in this post for your input and i hope this convinces support to finaly open their arms to us players in need.

    Can you explain how it was resolved please?

    I'd be very interested to know if you have had your character reinstated. As many others are waiting for thier chars to be restored too.

    I dunno, but I'm having a serious, serious issue believing any of this.

    How could local files require you to delete your character... off the... server...

    He probably learned how to computer and felt like a dolt and that's why it's so abrupt?

    Wow....

    I certainly hope you are not suggesting something illegal, over a video game...
