Clothing

Ok so, I bought this game for my wife my little girl and my self thats 3 accounts paied. Now my little girl likes to outfit her toons with nice looking cloths and she made a post on this. Then with out any kind of reasonable responce her comments were taken with out any serious concern or consideration and her post was simply removed. I do not think that a real life femal gamer requesting better in game clothing is a terrable thing. My little girl like mmorpgs and for her enjoyment of such games she enjoys more clothing options and made a simple sugestion.

So why is it thought to be apropriate to simply discard her post. If the game devs wish to keep female gamers, i think femal gamer idears should be taken seriously. So this is my post about a serious consideration to add more clothing options for the klingons side of the game as the federation side has a considerably greater number of clothing options.

i also feel that what ever forum mod who simply deleted her posts should apologise for not taking her post seriously and simply removing it. That was very unproffesional and inconsiderate.

I will be monitoring this situation and going as high as i can to what ever athoritys of game development and ownership to make my point if i have to. I'm not trying to be mean i'm simply trying to help her and the game by making sure idears arent censored and simply deleted with out just cause.

it may seem like a trivial point to some or even most but my little girl, whome is a paied subscriber, is upset and hurt by these actions. Don't lose costumers over simple sugestions :P

More clothes for klingon side would be awesome just b/c we're allies with Klingon doesn't mean we should/want to dress like them. And from a female gamers opinion having only one choice of boots to wear makes me cringe everytime I log on to this game. Then I run and check the tailor for updates with my fingers crossed only to be disappointed yet again. :(

Some info or feedback from the GM staff would be nice as they have ignored or deleted my posts and suggestions about it several times.

Perhaps, due to her age and how she may have written it, the post came across in an unintended fashion? Almost certainly, someone had to report it for a mod to look at it, and the mod must have agreed with whatever reason was given.

I'd suggest have her rewrite it, then check it over for clarity and possible misinterpretation.

Also, be aware that discussing moderator action constitutes a violation of the forum rules. I think you'll probably be okay, given the subject, and your generally reasonable tone, but I'm not a mod.

I'd also expect you (or her) to receive a notice as to WHY it was removed. Check your messages.

I just happened to notice that gorn, Letheans and Nausicaans, DO not even have an option for femal, this seems a little ..um.. sexist. not that i am trying to cause an issue but maybe i should term it gender bias. i duno just curious ... why no femal toons for these races.. and when you buy the pack to allow federation ferangi dos it allow for female toons. I guess i could understand an explination of cultural staging but .. i things that should be looked into .. we don't wanna loose our game due to ummm future legal issue potentials

It is a funny thing: They have time to delete posts wich actually do not hurt anybody, but no time to anwer a few simple question in the Klingon area.

By the way: I'm a 27 year old man and i like the tailor too, i did take at least half an hour for every singel BO.

Because no Gorn, Lethean of Nausicaan females have ever been seen on screen, which makes it concievable that they are "never" travel offworld.
But with Ferengi we have seen ferengi women already, and aside from that there are rebels amongst them, Grand Nagus Rom also made many reforms in ferengi society.

It's also possible that Gorn have no noticeable physical differences between the sexes. Go look at a lizard. Is it female or a male?

(I mean no insult to Gorns or any other reptiloid species. I'm just citing the closest analog that we're already familiar with. ;) )

Or maybe they only have one sex.

There are obviously sexist storyline points in the startrek universe and that's cool when kept in the story. It doesn't mean they have to ignore the fact that females play klingon side, pvp, and like to dress nice. It doesn't give them the right to ignore our suggestions on the forums and not take them seriously. I plan on contacting higher athority at cryptic or a lawyer to get my money back. I didn't sign up to this game to be treated like a second class gamer who doesn't matter.

Someone please explain why they take it seriously when someone requests more skins for the ships but when I suggest more clothes I'm asked if i'm joking and my post is removed not once but three times. A lot of the best pvp races are male only for storyline sake, but Orions whos traditional battle garments are the battle bikini aren't added and aren't being worked on or anything. Guys have whole races but the girls can't even have more than one choice for boots or outfits to wear and we can't request it because we're ignored, talked down to, and made to feel like TRIBBLE. They continue adding clothes to Fed side almost like they're saying women gamers should be PVE carebears that shouldn't care about PVP at all and I'm very offended.

Some of the races are single genders because the females have never been seen in the IP, as was already stated.
Dwarves in LotRO are the same. They technically only allow male characters because the females don't really show up in the IP. One player I know, however, created a 'female' dwarf primarily by RP'ing and by 'fixing' some of the features that are customizable. It works because female dwarves have beards.

I think some people are looking for breast and female type forms for some of these aliens. Although that's what they often have done in the show, it wouldn't make sense for a lizard race to have those kind of features, so they should just remove the reference to gender at all in the case of the Gorn.

Either way, there aren't nearly enough facial options for Gorn, or costume options for KDF side, regardless of gender. I haven't played with the other genderless races, though.

Honestly, that's where I think Moderators go too far and that if they want to delete a post, it should have to be reviewed by a supervisor or somethign like that. When they do delete something, I believe they are required to message the person and provide reasoning as to why.

My question would be, where did she post it? I don't see an actual suggestion borad and maybe Cryptic need to get one started so all suggestions can be centrally located. that would make sense to me.

I personally LOVE customizing my uniforms and characters. the more options the better i say. I hate it when everyone looks the exact same as everyone else. makes the game dull and boring to me. I love the Tailor and the options given but I'd definately like to see more offered and I'm 31 year old male.

One tailoring bug note, there's a problem with one of hte races and using the skirt for females. I don't remember the exact race but it looks like her face was slashed up. If you equip the skirt, there is no leg skin shown so it looks like the torso is floaring mid air and the boots are just there.

Eh, The Entire kilingon faction is still pretty much broken when it comes as customiztion, so the gender card really is not applicable here.

Clothing seems to be an afterthought. 3 slots (one locked) with an off duty one as the main second and nothing there for it. Even the simple uniform Skirt got sent to preorder and the rest of us dont get it. Nothing personnal to this game but I preordered Tabula Rasa and played for the grand total of 3 hrs. Preordered a few solo games with the same result. I had no intention of playing this untill I got a trial so I broke the rule just by being here now. I dont place much focus on thses things but any company that can make clients happier with simple requests like this that dont impact mechanics and fail? Are boneheads.

A simple reply saying it would be worked on eventually would have been wonderful instead of the completely unprofessional actions that were taken. If they don't have the answer they could say that, removing it won't make the issue go away it will only upset their players.

There have never been female Tellarites on screen (and I also can't recall a female Pakled). Yet both have female as option. Nausicaans are no repitilians, so it can be assumed they have females like any other species.

Reptilians having only one gender... Na, sorry. Earth reptilians have two genders. They may be hard to keep apart for the untrained eye - but lizards self have trained eyes. Just because we silly mammals don't see the difference, it doesn't mean there is no other gender. People can be color blind, and colors still exist.
It would be logical to simply go with the facts about most repitilian lifeforms - the females are slightly bigger than the males. Works fine for both Gorn and Letheans.
