Well, was in a pvp fight today (space) and this guy we just could not kill him. He was in a escort and had 3 of us in escorts shooting him. He took no damage at all. No shield damage, no hull damage nothing. When i asked him how he was doing it he said i took out your weapons. Well, i can see him taking out 1 of the escorts weapons but not all three.
Heck he did not even use 1 RSP. So one of his buds flew in and we killed him quick then back on this guy. Funny after he said he took out our weapons they worked fine on his bud when we killed him, but still when we switched back to him he took no damage. we finaly just gave up on him.
I pvp all the time and have never seen this before.
Odd, even with the best of gear you can still have yer a** handed to ya if outnumbered. I guess I would have to know the load outs of all involved.....not enough info.

I hope there is not a cheat out now would really ruin pvp. I pvp all the time and have never seen this before.
I was in a Recon Sci Vessel with the Honor Covariant Shield (11k shields). You were the only escort on me, the other 2 were cruisers. I jammed one guys sensors and hit the other guy with Target Weapons I and Energy Siphon II(-62 total weapons power), you dropped out of full impulse at about 7km and I hit you with Target Weapons II (-68 weapons power) popped Evasive and an Engine Battery as RSP was down at the time.
As I sped off, you and the Assault Cruiser chased me. I kept hitting you with Target Engines I and Target Weapons II to keep you at max weapons range and low weapons power. I kept pegging the cruiser with Jam Sensors and Viral Matrix. Combine that with Science Team II, Emergency Power to Shields I, and Hazard Emitters I, mitigating your damage while keeping that cruiser tied up was pretty easy.
For some reason, Target Subsystems didn't take hold on you a couple of times so that's how you were able to finally get me, but you were still low enough for me to take you out with a Core Breach.
So yeah, no cheats. My Recon Science is designed to lure players away from the capture points and either keep them away from the points or just destroy them so they think twice about attacking me next time.
how did you get target weapons III to either 1) have I nd II recharge that fast or b) get it at all on a recon sci, as you have one ensign and one lieutenant tactical bo slot
Yeah sounds a bit fishy, especially with the system cooldown, it would take several minutes to execute all those beams abilities. But i guess it took them very long to catch up, so thats explains it.
using any target subsytems ability puts all others on like a 15 second cooldown. so he wasnt hitting anyone with 1+2, he was hitting 1, then 15 seconds later using 2
unless he'd hit one, wait 15 seconds, shoot hit 2 then hit again. then he can use 2 again 30s later with a diff subsystem 1 from the ship (ship ones are 1m 30 cd)
still doesnt change the fact he said he hit one guy with target weapon systems 1 + energy siphon, then hit another guy with target weapon systems III
you cant get III of any tactical BO abilities on a science vessel
The tone and facts of the original post may not have been 100% but it was tamer than most and the curiosity is reasonable. It's interesting to read about some of the tactics used so effectively. I think we all have a certain set of expectations as to what is the supposed response to certain actions so when someone doesn't rely on something like RSP chains it shakes us a bit.
There is a lot going on and when something doesn't fit it's reasonable to ask about it. Just another way to learn.

Of course cheats exist, see it daily. However most cheats are smart enough to toggle it so it looks like you are doing dmg, but can never kill them. cant tell you how many times i get certain people to 5% in a matter of seconds and then all dmg stops.
The OP admits to cheating.......Recon sci can Not have target Subsystem III of anything. That s LtC tactical ability avaiable only on escorts. Thanks for being honest about it

Nope, science people automatically have target subsystems of everything.
Can a Tactical captain get tier III target subsystems? I'm not defending, just not sure.
yes, but not in the recon science vessel he said he was flying. it requires a lt. comm tactical bridge officer slot. science vessels have one ensing, one lt at tier 5
AM not, ARE too, AM not, ARE too, not not not not not not , too too too too
triple stamp your double stamp and i call antiquitsies
So what it could possible boil down too is one char being intimate with their ships abilites where as the other...not so much?
Still with the cool down factor and PVP with different ship types being what they are. Something still is quite curious if indeed a science vessel had gone so Chuck Norris on everyone. But didn't the OP state that he was fighting another Escort?
Shows what I know. >_< For some reason I got it in my head that it was unlockable by Tactical Captains like Subnuc is for Science. Suppose if I thought it through better I'd have realized that its the Science captains that get target subsystems and even then only tier 1. Thanks.
People get a hold. He must have written a I too much in the hurry, I can confirm, as a target subsystem user myself, that a skilled version II of this skill drains about 68 power. target subsystem III would've drained ~93 energy from that system.
Now calm down and don't accuse players that know how to fight as cheaters. The fact that the OP can't even distinguish between an escort and a science ship shows clearly he was not the perfect match for a skilled pilot.

This. It was a typo, I mentioned Target Weapons II at least one other time in the report. Too many kneejerk reactions here.
View it at 480p, and look closely at the weapons the other ship shoots at the carrier around 4s in. It's several streams of different colors, hence the "rainbow" effect. It's probably multiple weapons type turrets in each slot to give the different colors, and probably CRF.

Thanks for explaining, never seen anyone do something as un-cookie-cutter as this. But that's probably cos I play during European evenings, so smaller player base...
I can't say If what I have seen was the same thing as the OP, I hope i'm using that correctly, but in a FvF Cap & Hold match I went one on one with another Cruiser, T5. At one point in that encounter I knocked down his facing shields, fired a Quantum Torp and Crit him for 13k+ and his hull bar didn't change.
So from what i have seen there is some MASSIVE bug out there or people are starting to hack. That is all.

That sounds very powerful.
Can I see your rainbow build spec?
