I have played against a Klingon Toon named Security Escort a few time but I personaly find anyone who names there toon after a NPC a Cheat but have been told that this is a trend to be found at end game. was wondering if this is a trend or just some people cheating do to lack of skills ?

Have also been informed that naming your toons after npc's is not against code of conduct which i find very strange.

I've never really noticed it myself. As a naming trend that is.

And Surely they'd behave differently to a Tac Security Escort?

Aside from slightly altered ones for the benefits of warped humour, I can't really see that taking off.

I'm not too big a fan of the person who named their super short all covered in black alien science officer Medical Generator.

One of those things is clever. Two of those things is annoying. All three? Kind of obnoxious.

If you can target them they are the enemy.
Just remember to stop shooting when you get scrambled.

It's not a big deal at Lt.C level because the tact's can't beam down the NPC security escorts. I imagine this would be extremely annoying at RA level games, especially if they started switching uniforms. However for right now it's not a big deal because the three people in question have not advanced past Lt.C, and have actually been at this level for about two months. I actually enjoy playing against them very much (and sometimes with them when I switch alts) as they're very tough.

Also as a tip, I believe the "real" security escort will show a ranking in the reticule that is much higher than the "beam down" security escorts. So that is an easy way to find the right target.

I have played with that same individual the op named, Security Escort, a few times and he is a very good player. In fact he was the only person who consistently got more kills than i did in the ground pvp matches I played in all night long. I'd get 20 kills he'd get 24. I'd get 26 kills he'd get 29. Heck the one game I went 30 - 0 he had something like 35 kills. He died once though so I win, = P.

Though I don't see how naming yourself after a npc automatically makes you a cheat? The one that annoys me the most are the ones that try to copy Seven of Nine, and give themselves names like two of One, or six of eight..

I remember I used to name all my Mastermind Ninjas after me. It was great.

Security Escort has been around for months, at the same level too btw. He is a really good player, and I note he teaches Feds how to PvP. Folks like him are good for the game in my opinion.

I love the way he moves just like the NPC version. Very clever stealth in plain sight if you ask me. His gimmick only works at lower levels though, which is probably why he has intentionally not leveled his character.

There are others too, but I forget their names (Medical Generator maybe?). A cheat? Give me a break.

He is more like a Role-Playing PvPer than anything else.

I don't know about the particular TOS guidelines in this game, but I know other games have a rule that have naming convention rules that frown upon this.

The obvious are not naming yourself after Cryptic staff/GM members, but I do remember a few games that also included NPCs and I would not be surprised if Cryptic had a similar policy.

This just seems lame, especially the "Medical Generator" guy.

For me, it was pretty easy to spot them because I probably look at things differently, especially the Security Escort guy, normally such things are NOT in PvP matches and they are NOT Klingons.

He may be a "nice guy" but it is pretty lame. The last poster even remarked how he "loves how he moves ljust like the NPC version." Sorry, that is a bit of a cheat, even if it is, in my view, easy to catch. So he either *thinks* he is a cheat or he is lame and fooling himself.

Still, it would be nice to check on the TOS guidelines and see.

A cheap attempt at gaining an advantage. But then, ground pvp? I stopped doing it when i realized, that sci is broken even more than in space.

The great thing about PvP is if you don't like the person's name, give them a dirt nap. And again. And again. :)
