Stop playing driver police!

Seriously, stop it. The reason I'm not updating my driver is because this driver is stable and newer drivers result in my computer crashing when I try to play games. It is NOT your place to tell me I need to update my video driver. Maybe a little notice for everyone stating players with outdated video drivers may experience problems, but telling me my video drivers are outdated every time I start the game and prompting me to use TRIBBLE graphic settings once a month simply because I don't feel like changing from a driver that works perfectly fine to one that probably won't is just annoying and unprofessional.

I'm VERY certain I speak for a LOT of people when I say this. There's a lot of bad driver versions out there, both Nvidia and AMD, and NOBODY wants to change from a driver that works only to find the latest driver crashes their computer. They will update when they see a need to update, and if their game is already working fine, there is NO NEED TO UPDATE. Stop nagging people to do something that will probably break their system stability and make them crash while playing your game.

I've been using nVidia cards since the Geforce 2 Ti, and the only time I ever "reverted" a driver was... recently, with the 196.75 fan bug. While my GTS 250 was not effected by the bug, I reverted to 196.21 because I didn't want to risk my current GTX 275 CO-OP.

Oh yeah, I'm running 197.13 now; still working fine.

While I've never reverted a driver to make a game work, I did once have to install a newer beta driver to make my then-new 6800GT work with City of Heroes.

I would imagine Cryptic tests their fixes if not actually basing them on the most recent driver(s) available.

I would advise just biting the bullet and updating your drivers. They're not designed to explode.

Also, I have the latest Nvidia drivers, as confirmed by Nvidia.

But your stupid driver police still screams at me to get the newest drivers.

So not only are the driver police annoying, they're also TRIBBLE.

That's kinda odd... before I built this new PC I played STO on my old P4 2.8e with a 6800GT. I kept the drivers up to date and had no problem playing STO... running at min settings, of course, but it still ran.
