Help and info needed on Scramble Sensors

So well aware what the ability does in PvP.

So I'll explain my problem, I'm a support/healer ship. And nothing worst then seeing my abilities switch to ally target or vice versa and enemy gets heal. Even if I manually target, still messes up. Now, I know I read somewhere how to disable the auto-targetting in a way that most fights has to be done manually.

I attempted to set "Assist Target on Attack" to OFF. But it didn't do anything, at all! If it was like the feature was still ON no matter what, possibly a bug.

I'm out of ideas honestly and didn't see anything else in the options that could help me.

P.S.: Healer ships are rare, return the favor by solving my problem? :D

    Hi there,

Indeed, you must turn off 'Assist Target on Attack'.

But the current incarnation of Scramble Sensors makes -all- ships appear friendly, so your target (or target's target, if Assist is on) will always receive your buff/heal.

You must target yourself first, before you apply a buff/heal. Or, clear your target altogether. (It is always preferable to target yourself explicitly, just in case.)

In order to target yourself explicitly, hit F1 (default keybind to target self, which can be changed in the Key Binds menu) or right-click on your ship shields status indicator.

It is also helpful to use your keybinds to target team members explicitly.

    Hope that helps. :)

Problem isn't about targetting myself. That always work.

What I want to do is manually target an ally ship and heal them, without before forced to heal another ship.

Turning OFF 'Assist Target on Attack' did NOT work. (Doesn't even work when I'm not scrambled, might be a bug)

    Looking for solutions.

    Thanks

In which case, I recommend you file a bug report ticket, and post your ticket number and description in the Gameplay Bugs forum so that GM_Litana can help you more quickly and directly.

This sounds like a bug in your case, since I never have a problem with auto-assist off.

My real life job is submitting bug reports. I'll let someone else bug this. Hardly think i'm the only person out of thousands of players.

I'm wondering if the setting is getting disabled or something with a glitch and you don't realize it. I have the same option disabled because if I had it enabled and attempted to heal myself, what woudl happen is it would take the target of my enemy target, and heal them instead. So I'd heal the Klingon's target instead of myself. Once I set the option to OFF, things worked great.

That being said, I've seen some of the control settings "flip" unexpectedly though on me some nights, mainly the camera follow mode for me. It'll suddenly switch from Free to Follow when I enter a PvP map.

scramble targeting sensors always has a chance of you healing an enemy (or shooting) the way around is to use your Function keys. F1 = target self F5 = target friendly player 5 in group. I have found it best to hold down the friendly target member key (eg.. "Oooh player 3 in my group needs a science team!" hold down F3 and use your science team. This will MOSTLY work, but not always it can still switch on you but is a lot less likely.

I hope this helps. I have a lot of experience against this skill as i am a full time carrier pilot.

i kinda have the same prob in my cruiser. ill toggle this stupid option off right away.

thx for the info, this will save me alot of grief.

oh my god, im gona die, just a few more seconds for my engi team, 3...2...1... incomming heal. BOOM

FFS healed my teammate instead of myself, again. (team mate already at 100/100)

also, i get the feeling that when i try to heal, it tries to heal a teammate i previously targetted before.

devs when i whant to heal a teammate, ill click on that person and heal him. if i have no target exept a klingon, i should be casting the heal on myself. thats all thank u

I guess you read partially what I wrote. As I said, I already know what Scramble Sensors does :p.

Problem isn't scramble sensors, is the feature that turns off auto-targeting. Even when not scrambled.

Well, complaining about it at this point will not help you. The QA/DEV teams don't regularly trawl through these threads, which is why they repeatedly stated their need for bug tickets (to be followed up with a forum post in the Gameplay Bugs forum).

Once you do that, GM_Litana will probably be able to help you fairly quickly, at least in identifying if this is a bug or user error.
