Got blowed up by a bunch of cloaked Klingons, did you?

Here's a tip. Stay with your allies. Running off alone is a 1-way ticket to respawn.

Yep, stay with the fedball. I often uncloak to see if there is a fed dumb enough to come after me. It works far too often. The good groups don't break up.

I also run away from a fight if I get focused and then turn around at 19k out and see if theres a fed that followed and procede to blow them up. If more then one fed comes; I just cloak.

You can't shoot in cloak you have to uncloak to start shooting. Cloak works best when you are moving from one location to another and don't want to be bothered with the current assault going on above and below you. In salvage operations you can not take a node in cloak, you can't come storming in cloak with out disengaging it before you fire so that takes practice and timing. Cloak gets detected very quickly in many of my attacks.

What is all this about Cloak, it's not like we can stay cloaked and fire on you forever and never uncloak.

Running away is a great way to lead the Fed away from the node in Salvage they religiously follow you as far as they can. There are times I might shoot a few shots just to get their attention and I will then not fire on them anymore and keep leading them away farther and farther away from the whole board.

Some of the feds are finally getting the idea Klings are doing this on purpose but some just do not grasp what is going on. The farther away we get you and keep you way from everything the faster we can regain control over the board and you lose.

    omg which ganking?
you go for a mingame thats not really ganking :D
if you are not able to stay in a group you will get allways "ganked" (killed) from a organized opponent squad
if this game gets ever a open pvp sektor then you can speak about "ganking" otherwhise its just the unknowledge of you or your allies

As a fed, playing in PUGs, I found that around 50% of my PvPs were spent as part of a group that at least tried to work together, out of that 50% maybe half of them stayed together past the first dogfight. My best Fed games generally involved me and one other player pairing up, at least loosely...we didn't fight as a pair, but you'd keep half an eye out for the other and help out on an attack or swat somebody off their back.

As a klink I have been in one PvP where I wasn't part of a team - and that's 'cos I got a 'team is already full' reply to my 'team?' request. (I still 'flew' as if I were part of the team, I just didn't have quite the same amount of info).
The rest of the time I got the odd chat message telling me where to go, or identifying a communal target, or SOMETHING that gave me a clue how to work with the rest. As a klink I automatically feel part of a group, as a fed I feel like an individual wishing I were part of a group.

There are two differences, fed v klink, that I can really point to - 1) Feds are individuals almost all the time, they might be a team but they aren't working together.
    2) Escorts are good ship killers, and the klinks have better escorts.

I have played against a few good fed groups, so far - they are coordinated, and they are hard to fight. Mostly however it's fish in a barrel, 'cos the difference between good and 'normal' fed groups/teams is like black and white.

Yup. Depending on the map, it can get to be pretty interesting seeing when the cloaked fighters will finally give in to the impatience. For instance, in cracked planetoid ... they need 15 kills too. And get zero just floating there. It's not like the fedball is cloaked up and hidden.

    ;)

i have also noticed the tendency of fed players to full impulse into a thick of a fight and then complain they aint doing any damage. they dont realize that full impulse siphons power from your weapons, making them less effective.

klinogon players tend to be more knowledgeable and by far more willing to share that information than fed players. even with their enemies on the map as they are playing it. most of what i now know about the way this game works is from klingon players, one of them even helped me set up my fed toon up properly via a vent when she was a commander rank.

*sigh* it is alliance vs Horde all over again.

I rarely play PvP but when I do I find this ball against ball thing simply boring. It's much more interesting for me to catch an opponent outside of the balls and do a 1 via 1 fight. Two small groups fighting each other is also nice but sadly the game does not support this type of gameplay and most times I try a 1 via 1 fight more opponents come so I must flee or will be destroyed.

You may be a good pvper, as many claim, but if you have pleasure from griefing other players, you seriously need to grow up. :o There is no challenge in killing inexperienced players.

there is no griefing/ganking in this game, there cannot be as there are only a few pvp maps where you have to actively make a decision to join the map. Just because there is something you want from the map does not mean when you are killed you have been greif'd/ganked.

The only chance to have griefing/ganking would be if there were open world pvp and players could kill you anywhere and at any lvl. Personally, i tend not to bother with lower lvl players, well unless they actaully start a fight, but that is a personal choice and not everyone is the same.

That said i am not surprised by this thread, in swg there was one hilt for a lightsaber that dropped off a mob that spawned in the pvp zone, while it was not a must have item many complained about its location as they were 'gank'd/grief'd' while sat waiting for the pop. You can do a pve daily now to get purple gear, so you dont have to do the pvp run if you don't want to.

there are pve missions that also provide 5 tokens that can be put towards the purchase of those same (and in my opinion better balanced) purple items. It could be that this is a kdf only option but i doubt it.

I also love how you call others rude and 'jerk' and then act in exactly the same way yourself. Personally i could care less about you and your issue with the game, just pointing out that there are other options to obtaining that purple gear you think is so important without having to pvp. Clearly however you are far more intersted in being a petulant child over it.

Sounds like you feel only strong in a group and have fear to stand alone.

If you have support, it is always best to lead the opponent away from the node. I always love that "must have kill at any cost" mentality.

Hmmm, the Trollery containment field appears to be inoperative in this area, I best call in maintenance.

Also the universal translator seems down. Half of this doesn't make sense.

    To the OP:

Yes It's ganking, 15 kills done quicklly = your TRIBBLE is XP. Get used to it or go as a premade / work together with your pug and up your chances.

Or it's Cap and Hold, in which case you spent all your time getting killed instead of capping points.

Either way same advice applies I'm afraid.

Yes! I''ve leveled 2 chars 1 to RA and one to Capt on only pvp. If you leave the group, you die! The enemies even when cloaked stick together and wait for impatient people to fall into their traps.

i admit when i join a match and its me vs 3 or 5 feds i normaly just stay cloaked and then ask if they want to 1 on 1
conversly if i come across a teammate thats fighting solo against a fed ship i wont decloak and help ill just watch

sure if the fed kills my teammate ill open up and attack but i dont like ganking so ill let there 1v1's alone if im in a situation to do so. afterall 1v1 is where the most skill comes in and its good to test your self solo against an enemy player instead of just firing with a group
