What is best in life?

"What is best in life?"

"Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentations of their women."

Conan

This is another "we need DP, competition system and loser hammer" thread. Yes I want DP in PvP to make you suffer for your failure. I want you to not receive any rewards for your failure. Its not enough if I kill you in PvP to satisfy me - you have to suffer for this kill, otherwise the kill is worth nothing. DP is what makes PvP fun, suffering of others by your hand makes it fun. And being killed should make you sad, or mad. But if being killed changes nothing, the kill had no meaning at all.

This is the PvPers soul. Yes I am for griefing, yes I am for killing lower level players. I dont care about "honorable" combat, about fighting at even odds, about fighting at even numbers. I only care about winning. In case winning is worth it and if there is a way to win. If opponent cant lose, you really cant win. This is what drives PvP, this is what PvP should look like.

/carebears can start ranting now, examples include:

"I want to play for fun, not compete" - answer "Making your enemy suffer is much more fun than what you encountered yet."

"I have a family and cannot play 24/7" - answer "Family is no excuse for being loser at playing games."

"I dont want to PvP, I like PvE." - answer "You like to pwn much weaker enemies only (NPCs)... thats called griefing boy. If you want to kill much weaker enemies than you, you deserve being killed by much stronger enemies than you."

"I suck at PvP." - answer "You can always better yourself."

Might I remind you to times where Klingons had no cruiser in T2 and got crushed constantly by the FEDs? How do you think shall the average MMO-player climb through T2 without any rewards in 90% of the games?

I understand what you mean, but think the rewards shall come through open PvP zones with lootable or holdable objectives. And your statement is easy to say as a maxed out geared out BG5 Klingon ;) Nobody can grief you anymore.

I question the sanity and judgement of anyone who thinks the best use for a woman is to hear her lamentations. BTW that DeLaurentis TRIBBLE was not Conan.

Whoever made that up has obviously never been in a war.

It's a heck of a lot easier to fight an enemy who thinks surrender might not be that bad, than it is one who is committed to fighting to the death. The Conan attitude make your enemy prefer death to surrender, and a guy with that mind set will try to take you and your buddies with him when he goes.

If you really only care about winning, then making your enemies not want to lose is stupid. You should reward them for losing. Heck, run psyops on them and convince them that you're such a nice guy that they really want you to win almost as much as they want their side to win.

If you're really not worried about "honorable" combat, that is all the more reason to appear honorable to your enemies, since it can help you trick them into giving up. And since you aren't worried about honor, getting your enemy to give up is just as much a win as if you defeated him on the field of battle.

Why on earth do you want the guy you just shot and who's bleeding out on the floor to spend his last energy trying to shoot you, or detonate and IED, when the approach of death could prompt him to start giving up secrets and begging for medical attention instead?

Seriously, Conan is a clueless noob :)

Heh, I just caught myself trying to make a reasonable and rational reply to this obvious troll post.

I need to wake up more before I start posting.

To this I reply in your own words.

By your own admission, you deserve to be killed.

The true PvPer soul is to seek out opponents to challenge him, so that one may become better at it, learn better tactics and hone his skills.
