Hi Im new to pvp and in the couple of games I have done I die very fast and give little to no damage.

What are the recommended power levels for a star cruiser with six beam arrays and 2 torps.

I usually have my powers set to the defence option and guess this is one of my problems as the combat window shows when im firing all my beams im giving roughly 0-40 damage?

Any help/recomendations would be appreciated

I guess it depends on the consoles you're using

Are you using any EPS, or weapon power increase consoles?

Myself in a cruiser I use 2 EPS and 2 Weapon Power consoles, in PvP I run full power to weapons, shield setting doesn't increase shield hardness or capacity, only regen.

Hi Yes I have just bought a mkX EPS I think it gives +1.3

my other ENGINEER consoles are hull strength related.

Science Consoles are Biofunction Monitor and 2 collimators

Tactical are Directed Energy Distribution Manifold (+22) and Zero Point Quantum (+25)

To make this simple you just don't go into pvp and expect to win. When you are at a 11 like 11, 21, 31, 41 you are about as weak as you can be for PvP until you reload all your consoles and weapons for that rank. After about level 2 in those ranks you start getting things done in the game. So once you get some more gear you will find you can complete better and so forth.

    This.

In a cruiser, it's generally best to run with full power to weapons. The regeneration on your shield will be inconsequential in PvP, so the only reason to put power to that is to recharge after a fight. To keep your shields up you rely on boff abilities, especially Reverse Shield Polarity.

The reason for maxing weapon power is that it not only helps with your damage, but your weapon fire also makes less of an impact on the power level at higher power settings than lower. So when you are at low weapon power you drop even lower faster.

I don't think thats how Cryptic intended the game to be played, but that's how it works right now.
