Launcher crash after game exit.

Several times today the 'prepatch' updater that launches after exiting the game has crashed.

I did a quick C&P from the crash window, in case it has anything useful in it for you. Let me know if there's anything else you need in order to track this one down.

Actually i don't overclock my graphics card since way back, Its just my processor these days.
Modern graphic cards are way to risky to overclock since they are already mini-blast furnaces, which means unless one has liquid cooling it is a very very bad idea to try to OC GPU's.

I too have been having this issue.

I happened to notice this last time that at the bottom of the Launcher Window it said "Error 4: Attempted view is invalid" followed by a countdown time to "restart". Once the timer counts down, the launcher crashes with a Windows (Vista in my case) notification of such.

I am using Vista as well. Sometimes it does check for patch downloads others "Error 4: Attempted view is invalid" then launcher crash.

Mine says my launcher (CL_2010_03_22_32) is out of date and that I have to run the installer to update it, but when I click the link it takes me to a script error in my browser???????????????

    Now getting the following:

"Your launcher is out of date. Please run the Installer to update it."

Also got a script error, but it wouldn't let me copy/paste the info. Stated a script had stopped working, and did I want to continue using scripts on that page.

    Launcher Version: CL_2010_30_22_11_22

Mine is also doing this, version CL_2010_03_22_32. I also installed the Java update that came down the pipe today too, don't know if that is related.

I got the same out-of-date message with the same launcher version, but the link said access denied.

I happen to have a star_trek_online_setup.exe on my computer still so I ran that, and now the launcher auto-update is running. I don't know what this will do to my installation of the game, but hopefully it'll fix whatever's been happening.

Ok.. Tried a relaunch. If I keep clicking through the script errors, it'll let me enter a password, etc.. but each time information in the launcher is updated, I get another error screen.

I don't recall allowing a Java update today. As far as I know, I have that set so that they can't autoinstall, but that doesn't mean they didn't reset it on me in a previous update.

According to the Control Panel, it's Version 6, Update 18, (build 1.6.0_18-b07), if that helps you any Ranger :)

EDIT: Newest version, according to Sun, is v6 u19. I'm going to hold off on installing that until you let me know if you want me to do that, and see if the script errors persist.

I am having this same error. Here is the version of the launcher I have:

    CL_2010_03_2211_32.

It tells me my launcher is out of date and to run the installer to fix it. When you select the link, you get the error that everyone is mentioning.

I am also in the same boat.

Guess all we can do now is wait out the storm, and hope the waves don't capsize the ship?
Anyone know how to trim the sails a bit in the meantime so we can at-least keep our bow into the wind?

And... it looks like it worked. I still have a script error message, so I clicked "No" like other people are doing.

People here should read this thread: http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=147094
