What federation ship type matches this mentality?

I am trying to figure out which ship type is best for me but I could really use some help.

My fleet died after the first month I am one of the few left. Everything I do I do it solo or pug essentialy I am a lone wolf.

Now I love pvp in all mmos and this game is no exception except that I am having trouble finding my place.

I am an engi captain btw.

In pug pvp I only take care of myself I will assist my team but I will rarely waste cool downs on them.

I would like to be well rounded not super squishy and able to deal out some damage.

I have flown every ship type and this is what I have found:

Escort: super squishy but does not have to worry about keeping teammates alive awesome dmg.
Cruiser: this ship feels like it was meant to have a support role.
Sci: I like recon sci good shields however I don't know what sci skills to pick also the dps could be better I feel....

I'm leaning towards a cc/dps ship can anyone help me with sci powers?

Your mentality does not match the Federation, therefore its ships do not match you.

Your requirements basically describe a T5 BOP.

I must agree with this statement.

    several clues amongst the ramblings, particularly this one, make me believe that you really haven't played the STO pvp much;
In pug pvp I only take care of myself I will assist my team but I will rarely waste cool downs on them.

This is a team game, this is not call of duty. if you want to be "that rambo" or "that supertrooper" that only looks after himself then expect not to receive any help.

People do not expect you to stay in a group after a map.

People do not respect you for playing solo and dieing or refusing to assist others.

Please curb your anti-social tendencies. You are not the Lone Ranger.

Join Klingon and fly a carrier.

As a t5 BoP flyer who regularly hands out heals and buffs to his team when he can I find this remark offensive sir and I shall be hunting you down and failing to kill you with extreme prejudice!

    That is uncalled for.
Klingons do help each other and work together as a team most of the time to achieve their objective.

I suspect he mentioned the BoP for its potential combination of CC and DPS. The Carrier is the other option here.

Based on the fact that he is not a team player, he should stay on fed side.. driving a freighter.

I reccomenda t5 Adv Escort With Haz1 Sci1 and Tractor Repulsors one, or perhapes trade haz1 or sci1 with regular tractor beam, but i definatly reccomend repulsors for what your talking about.

Also i dont know what kind of weapons your using but Chronoton weapons while lacking in dmg have huge CC potential, especially when combined with torp spread.

    Hope this helps.

When you say something like this, then I don't want you on my team pug or otherwise.

Don't bash the man for being honest.

He is not the first to play like that in pugs nor the last...it is a well established PvP style in WoW.

Of course this is not WoW most of us want it to be something better, greater, with more depth...right?

Believe it or not, loners in PvP actually can help to get a victory, by having independent thinking by going where the enemy does not expect them, by maybe weakening enemy cohesion when that enemy has to pursue that loner to the other side of the map.

What is important is that everyone tries their best, yet you cannot expect a PUG to act like a pre-made team when the game itself doe snot put the proper tools to the disposal of the players, the game doe snot even help players properly communicate as it is. I may not play like the OP but I certainly understand him.

That being said, I would say that my first thought was a BOP style of play too but I think it can also work with Federation escort that has a focus in damage, and when it comes to damage and DPS as long as you are killing the enemy, you are contributing to the team effort.

it only works in C&H though, otherwise its giving free points to the opponent.
