Suggestion: Default Crew Uniform

Since we're on the topic of uniforms and templates and whatnot here recently, i'd like to suggest a change that would be great.

Any NPCs that are on your ship or a part of your away team (security teams, reenforcements, etc...) which you do not directly create or have control over (Non Boffs) should be able to have a uniform set for them, much like your Boffs. So basically a "default ship uniform" for any crewmen that isnt part of your team.

Looking at ships when you're on the bridge, even with max Boffs, you still have minors in those ugly Cryptic-class uniforms on your bridge, or the security escorts that beam to planets that have them. We really should be able to load up a template (choose whether the colour is "fixed" or "departmental") and let the dynamic crew NPCs have uniforms that match ones you pick.

    I'd very much like this, especially with department variation for the uniform. I want my security escort to wear the same uniform I do! It also wouldn't bother me so much when random NPCs are on my bridge.

    We also should have separate male and female uniform defaults too - I wouldn't want to accidentally see male NPCs in skirts...

    Good idea. I'll keep this in mind next time we are looking at the Uniform options.

    While you're at it, make it so that uniform is the default for new boffs. I'm at the point where I know the pieces and colors for a new boff but it'd be nice if it was automatic.

    I love this!

    But definitely need to be able to use custom colors for the divisions... since I use the 2373 uniforms and want my security/tactical crew in the proper gold.

    i'd just be happy if they fixed it so uniform colours weren't linking together all the time.... still have yet to fix those damn bugs with my BOffs.

    I would like this to be implemented too, but both of new BOFFs and non BOFFs crew. :)

    I would also like to change all the uniforms for all my BOFFs of the same class, sex with just one interface, instead of having to go through all of them just to change little details.

    And make the new rank pins automatically update as I rank them too, so I do not have to go to the tailor in order to make the change. ;)

    I would support this. It would be much more useful than the current, species-and-gender locked options.

    Yes, this suggestion has been around for a few months, but I haven't heard that they have put it on their list, yet.

    I definitely support this! :)

    Please make this a reality Cryptic. Its always a little annoying, when we take our time and love to customize our Captain's & BO's, just to see that all other crewmembers wear the default uniforms no matter what. I hate to write this overused word again, but yeah, that is really an immersion breaker at some level.

    Back in Kirk's time, each Starfleet ship or starbase crew had their own Insignia / logo on their uniform. After Kirk's famous 5 year mission with the Enterprise, their logo was addapted later for the whole fleet. Now, in the year 2409, Starfleet allowed us to wear different uniforms (which is a good explanation / justification for all the customizing the players can do). My thought on it was, Starfleet allowed that for each ship / shipcrew. So that could be a logical reason why we should be able to change the look of our whole crew. Since we now have the great ship interiors, we see our own crew more often. So, i fully understand that there are other more importend things to do, but i am still hoping that we see this feature in the game. :)

    well since we have interior and extra costume slot can we have a option or slot for Crew costume.

    a Costume design for each 3 career path so that we don't have to go through each character and see the rest of the crew (in interior) look like people from another ship or somethng

    Yeah... mhighison, isn't this already in the works. I believe I read it in one of the engineering reports.

    It was one of the suggestions in that "What aspect of Ship Interiors do you think is most important" thread. It lost out to functionality, but I think they were planning on adding it all eventually. I also seem to remember then saying there was some tech that needed to be developed for this, so it was more complicated than it initially seemed.
