Prepaid credit cards good for payment or not?

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
So can I in fact use a Prepaid credit card for this? Becasue I went out and bought one just so I can play, and it keeps telling me my payment method was declined. I'm starting to get a little annoyed. The card was just purchased and has 100 dollars on it.

HELP!!!!

As I've mentioned elsewhere, they are a bit of a crapshoot. It depends on who made it. We accept them no problem, but they often fail the CC fraud checks, usually because the vendor never registered a ZIP code to it or something similar (which looks suspicious to the CC company). Also of note, they often won't refund the $1 test transactions used to see if the number is valid.

I have an Anne Geddes Mastercard. So basically, if I'm getting the declined thing, it's not gonna work? Arrrgh!!!

Any idea which ones have worked in the past?

I would try Walmart they worked for me when I registered the game on here. HR block is another one that works but the Test $1 take a month to get back.

Most of the Greendot Cards will work because you have to enter your SS# and other personal info. You want a card that asks you personal info.https://www.greendotonline.com/contents/login.aspx

Dont know where your from but look around and see what you can find ask these questions at thre retailer. What you could do is open a checking account if your old enough and get a debit card from there the walmart and greendot cards have no age restrictions

Bah. Maybe I'll just wait a few months until my real credit cards are paid off a bit, and use one of them. Be nice if my prepaid would work though.

Have you tried to contacting them and explain they should have a phone number to get ahold of somone if your in the US. By law they have to get your personal info.

Ever thought about getting a Visa card that charges your bank account directly?

Will they work? I used them to buy the game from Steam just this morning and I have enough money left over to get the subscription, if not what do I do? :(

For the "real" answer you would have to check with the billing support team, but I suspect their answer will just be "try it and see". If it doesn't work, there is usually a phone number on the back you can call to override the default ZIP code on the card.

I can Confirm that the Walmart PrePaid CC does work with this System. Might have to wait till you get the ful card with your name on but I did it with that one and worked like a charm.

you might not like this answer, but here it is anyway....

you could always pay for a lifetime subscription, then you dont have to keep a card on file, unless you want to buy CP to use on the C-Store. it may seem like alot, but if your in the game for the long haul, its worth it.

its what? 299 for lifetime, and at 15 bucks a month for 12 months, thats 180 of that right there. for 2 years, thats 360, WELL more than the 299, AND you still have to pay for any other years after that. pay once for lifetime, and never have to pay again. after less than 2 years of playing, the investment starts paying for itself.

The Vanilla cards don't accept reoccurring bills. So I need to find another way, where are these game cards?
