1 day lost? What do you mean?

They didn't steal anything, you're just impatient.

    I totally understand your plight..

If I spent 50, I would at least give it more than a day to judge it though. I am not saying this game will win you over or anything. That is just a fast assessment to me. The game is actually very fun. There is a lot of promise in it. You just came in during a crisis is all. Your hard earned money though... so your choice. Good luck to you.

I can understand you very well. But maybe you are making too fast decisions. Give CRYPTIC at least a chance. :D

The game is actually pretty fun, especially since the latest major update. Once they get the pvp deleveling and server stability issues sorted out give it another shot.

question is...what will Cryptic do for their customers, since it is their customers they are either supporting or losing. IMO, like Champions "they will get the game up and running on their scheduled time, and leave it at that" An apology isn't gonna cut it.

Some players probably wanted to do something on their Saturday STO time, like"

    1) play STO
    2) level their toon
    3) PvP
    4) Explore
    5) Explore w/ friends
    6) chat at a starbase, or space
    7) troll at a starbase, or space
    8) Auction at the exchange
    9) pet their tribble

too bad none of that can be accomplish today, which is saturday...which is almost gone...which...well...is a sign for player to go out a breathe in that polluted air during the night...to compound on the polluted air breathed in during the day.

So Cryptic won't give anything back to their customers for the time their customer "players" missed playing,

    enjoy

After taking a year+ break from playing console games, I see I didnt miss a thing! I come back & blow 50$ on this game only to see that the wonderfull world of "new" MMOs is still puttering around with half-arsed devs who cannot ship & maintain a finished product to those whom would buy them....I left PC gaming because of this very thing,Looks like it's back to the 360 for me.

Thoroughly disgusted at the cash wasted on a game I can't play.

I do half to give cryptic the benefit of the doubt since there trying to release a mmo for massive online multi-player game. That it will take time and such to get it going. But in this case i'm kinda disappointed that I been playing for about a week, and out of that week I have only been able to login for 2 - 3 days of the week, With constant disconnects. As a company like WoW when they started out they did refund days lost due to issues. That is not the case now, I will try it for a bit longer but working long hours and such I really would love to get on a game and play to all hours of the night. I might half to go back to WoW till the server issues are solved soon :(. But when i have been able to play I love the game allot more then WoW.

Good riddance... the people who whine about losing 1 whole day of play out of 365 days in a year are not the type of community this game needs.

You could look at it this way:

What will cryptic do to subscription customers if they fail to pay their subscription fee on time?

Basically if you break the agreement you get nothing, if they break the agreement, we get nothing. If you don't raise this issue then then you must enjoy being taken advantage of.

A little consideration is due on both sides of the argument. Attacking someone for complaining about poor service is a puerile position to take, almost as daft as calling the devs all the names under the sun.

Grow up anti-whiners: Refund lost time to smooth customer relations. Simples.

Refund lost time? HAHAHA First of all, I don't recall seeing any service level agreement when subscribing to the game. Even if there were - how would you propose they calculate payment for your 1 whole lost day. Would you like 50 cents credited to your account? Too funny.

I may have a new hobby here in keeping track of how many blue names either share anti-reimbursement attitudes or have some sort of negative comment to share about individuals who are complaining of issues or things like lost service.

Just for my own personal amusement of course. heh. It's just something of a trend I've started to notice.

And it's already been stated, Cryptic will be looking to reimburse people for lost time/xp/rank/etc. Other companies (MMO developers included) have set precedence for this. It's not such a far fetched notion, regardless of your personal feelings on the matter or how much it affects you.

I'm not to the point of demanding money back or anything yet. A lost day is fair. If it continues into next week, my opinion may change. Only time will tell.

As for the people who jump ship after not being able to play today, all you can do is just shrug and move on. They probably would not have stuck around anyway so no big loss there.

Okay first of all to the person who is QQ'n over 1 day must have never played a MMO for one and for two I agree that people such as that are not needed. If they throw a hissy fit over one day then good riddance.

To the person keeping track of the lifers not supporting re-imbursment I agree with giving back the missing play time, but unless it goes on for months, which would be the games end what would be the point of giving money back. at most it would be a couple dollars for a week or so.

Refund was the wrong word to use. I meant credit an extra day of free time.

I can see why this would upset you, but lifers are no longer important to the financial security of this game, you simply funded the extra servers required before retail release. It is the cash subscribers that will keep this game afloat in the days/weeks/months and hopefully years ahead and if we are not treated fairly...well it doesn't bode well for anyone does it?

As a customer of a product or service, you vote with your money. A dollar may not be much to you but how many subscribers are there? Say 50,000 paying accounts. Shall I do the maths for you?

Some of you also forget the "ultra short" 5 days trial keys that could not be really enjoyed to test this game these last 5 days.

For regular players, i hope some... "real compensation", and no nerf bats. In game compensations would be fair.

    Sorry, call b.s. on this.

Once the maintenance was completed yesterday at around 1:30 GMT, I played for several hours without incident here in the U.K., throughout the day.
Might not want to blame Cryptic on this one.

Honestly you cannot blame the devs the CEO pretty much gave them an ultimatum and forced the release so that he could get his money back. The devs told him it wasnt ready, he wouldnt listen.

Don't get me wrong. I feel for the career people. I can't think of any type of money or time refund that would be worthwhile to someone who has already paid up for so long, which is what short-timers are so focused on right now.

It's just that I've noticed quite a few career players seem to immediately jump on the non-lifetime members when playtime/days are lost. Especially the trial players who may or may not purchase the game, and those who have already purchased but are still in their free monthly trial while waiting to decide to subscribe or not.
