very frequent disconnects

I get dropped from the game every 5 minutes or so, only to be able to instantly get back to the character select screen. I've gone so far as to run ping tests and speed tests at the very moment I'm getting "Server not responding" message which precedes being dropped to the login screen, and I get 0% packet loss and a fine connection (graded B). It does not appear to be my own connection to the internet. Being on ventrilo or not makes no difference. But it's very difficult to play when you get hung up and have to reenter the game so often. It's been going on for a week or so; before that my connection was stable.

Hopefully we'll figure out why I'm having this problem.

Yeah a lot of us are seeing that since the big patch.

I guess all big patches break something ... we now know what this one broke :p

I've been able to load into the game one time so far.
I then went into a system directly and go stuck on the very slow loading bar (as in barely moving).

Unlike last night, I can get to character selection again after the thing times out, but actually loading into the game is not working well or consistently. It either works or times out, but seems to go to timeout.

This seems worse than last night before the maintenance. At least last night, I could play for a while and would just get disconnected after I completed a mission rather than before I can even start one.

I hear you all. Got disconnected twice in 10 minutes.
That's why I'm trolling the forums now until the current loading screen disappears, if it ever disappears. :(

    ... :p

Game did run best at end of bete/star of release.

Since then EVERY patch made the game worse ... this incompetence of cryptic is so frustrating!

Good thing about it: 3 Friends of mine stopped playing already. I was silly enough to lifetime subscribe...

Working in IT myself, I ask myself how things like these are possible. I mean: they are not pioneers or anything. Others have already shown how it works for more than a decade...

    This is really pointless...

Only some of us are having this problem, so I can understand why it can happen. But I haven't changed anything on my end like hardware or drivers or anything. The best I can figure is something changed with the patch that makes my connection to the game hiccup and kick me to the login screen.
