Sure im going to get flamed for this, but I’m having a ball reading all of post about people demanding compensation for the downtime.

Personally, all these issues are making the game "Neat." Its like real life StarTrek. Do you think when new ships and ship systems come out, that they work flawlessly? Think of it like this, they are having all kinds of problems with patches right now, but they are learning about them so they can better face them in the future.... ether that or they are all laughing at us. Ether way its just a game.

Yep. Sure is, and like you I agree with OP.

Of course you know that Cryptic will fix the accounts.. as for Compensation? ROFLMAO..

    Compensation for what?

You want the whole $0.02 per hour in cash or in C-Store points that the server is down? (that is how much 1 hour game time costs you .. $0.02)

Alot of people playing STO have never played an MMO before and dont realize that there is nothing out of the ordinary going on here. Unannounced downtime, or poorly announced downtime is part and parcel for any good sized MMO.

And the sense of entitlement and instant gratification of certain generations also plays a big part in this.

I agree with you. C'mon! How many times did Kirk, in a moment of dramatic tenseness, give an order only for the Enterprise to power down completely? He never slapped the chair angrily, leaped to his feet, and screamed, "Dang that Starfleet! I DEMAND compensation for my wasted time! TRIBBLE IT! I quit!" <stalks off bridge> He didn't. He rolled with the punches and moved on with life. Or, more often, moved on with ending a Klingon's life. But hey! He moved on!

I would venture to say the problem is, people are real. If we were all imaginary then it would be someone elses fault for imagining all of us. ;)

Yea...not to many migrants here either......I was merely commenting on the cross water attitude of americanism in other countries based on popular misconceptions which lose something in the translation to what americans are really like. But emulating said attitude in an attempt to be more recognized as conforming to a medium of misconcieved attitudes brought on by poor news media perception as it pertains to the american way of life in general..........

    Make sense?

I never said I wasn't crazy, you just assumed I worked here and I didn't bother to correct you.......you gonna eat that?

Star trek has always missed that one cool aspect of human conflict...........

    The smart A**

Just imagine the enriching developments that could take place in space battles with such an opponent?

You would really want to make sure that ship blows up!

Spirit and determination wins battles....not fancy weapons and armor.

Even when battle is bad..........it is good!
